New Gallery & Posting Pictures from the Gallery

    The Gallery allows you to create your own photo albums.

    To get to the gallery, click on the media tab

    If you haven't used the gallery before you will be asked to either add media to a category or an album.
    Select Album

    Select An album

    Then click on Create an album

    Give your album a name - I used "Paul_l Pics"

    In the People who may ...... section Change the View Media to Members only, and leave Add media to album to Owner only.
    This has the effect of allowing registered members to view your album, but only you can load images into your album.

    Click Create Album

    Uploading Images

    Upload Images

    Now select your album from the drop down (if its not already there)

    View attachment 21

    And click on Upload Image.

    In the browser that opens you can select up to 10 images at a time, then click open.

    A progress screen opens up

    View attachment 22

    When the uploads have completed, a thumbnail is displayed, and you can add comments or delete the image if its the wrong one etc.
    When your ready click on the Save button a the bottom of the list.

    You will now be returned to your Album.

    Inserting an image into your post from your Gallery

    Click on the Camera button in the menu bar (above)

    This will open your gallery

    Select the image you want

    Do we need to use a specific web browser to add pictures to posts?

    Hi Richard,

    Your old photo gallery is here:

    http://platform1mrc.com/p1mrc/data/converted_files/gallery/126/

    You will see a list of files to click on.

    The ones showing a size of 3.0K are ones which you have deleted at some time in the past.

    You could copy the others manually to your new Media Album(s). Or Toto and Paul may be intending to provide an automatic function to do that.

    we shall be looking at incorporating the historical photos into the new gallery further down the line. We have the complete database of the gallery which has been linked to their posts for now.

    If I just want to add one photo, do I have to create an album first? Looks like the image icon is for getting an image from a website.

    Hi Sol,

    No, if you just want to add a photo to a post, click the blue Upload a File button below the post editor. You can add several and insert them within the text.

    It is nothing to do with the Media Gallery, just ordinary post attachments. Not all XenForo installations include the Media Gallery (which is an extra-cost add-on).

    You are typing in the post editor. You have already just posted an image attachment.

    To create an album, click Choose an Album, type in a name for it, then Create an Album.

    Finally managed to create an album, the software takes it time - many many seconds before creation pops up

    see how this goes it is Charde Signal cabin

    After they are inserted, you can move them

    around and type in between them.

    Just put the caret at the right edge of them and press Enter to create blank lines between them.

    They get inserted at wherever you have the caret.

    It's the same on any forum. You always create some blank space of 3 lines first, then put the caret in the middle line, then insert your image.

    Have you seen the link to the old gallery that Martin Wynne posted.???.......You just have to find one of your pics, click on it and it will open to reveal all your pics.
