Sounds more like a Highland banquet than a planning meeting...will Paul be serving a wee drop to help it all go down?

My packet of Peco slide chairs and 1 of the 3 packets of running rail chairs have arrived from Gaugemaster, the others are on back order, but based on the price, I have also ordered a couple of sets of Point V's and wing rails, plus a couple of sets of point blades as well. These are also on back order so we'll see if these will arrive before I even get an acknowledgment from C&L.

I will save the photo's for later.

But I will test gluing the chair to the timber sleeper with MEK.

I may have to reconsider my selection of wood dye.

I took two sleepers out from the jar last night, this morning they had faded

The sleeper in the middle is one fresh out of the jar.

Room now stinks of turps, as I force dry out the sleepers on the radiator.

Hmm, I am guessing you are very popliar at home now :avatar:.

I imagine the stain like some dark paints lightens as it dries. Is the stain the older solvent type or the newer water based? If the older type, could you mix some dark enamel paint in with it?

    Cheer's, Pete.

    Hi Pete

It is the older oil based stain, I have a feeling I have some Dark Oak stain somewhere safe :whatever:.
I will see what the final colour comes out.
The odour isn't as bad today, and mainly confined to the cave, no need for a do not disturb sign, even the cat isn't trying to open the door :avatar:.

Yes one cannot fault the Peco crossing vee, it is well planed on the angle, I've found a few packs of Peco S1 chairs you can have... I'll bring them with me to York, they are no use to me as I use that other manufacturers finescale chairs:avatar: which we will not mention.

I'd love to be able to compare the two, but as C&L don't seem to want my custom (they'll take my money tho') I will stick with the Peco ones and save money as well.

The two planed rails which make up a crossing vee are called the point rail and the splice rail, the splice rail is the one machined with a recess.

Have you not received anything on a refund yet. That' the best part of four months. I think I'd be writing a letter ........ recorded / signed for delivery. Add the cost to your refund value. Why should you lose forty odd quid.

Miracles of Miracles - 6 months after ordering, a parcel arrived today - the long awaited order from C&L.

Considering the York Exhibition was over a month ago when I spoke with the owner, its taken a month quickly this sort out.

Was there an apology, explanation, excuse no just a Paid stamp placed on the invoice with a hand written date of the 15th Dec 2017.

So with such outstanding customer service will I be placing a second order - NAE CHANCE.

Now I have examples from both C&L and Peco I will post up pics later.
