and a warm welcome from a sunny Dundee Looking forward to hearing about yourself and your modelling adventures. Once again welcome to the forum Paul
G'day Guy, Welcome aboard from Sydney. Great to have you on board. Plenty of great layouts and topics to keep you reading, asking questions and so on. Enjoy the camaraderie and banter that is P1MRC. Cheers, Gary.
Thank you all for the warm welcome, I am looking getting back into railway modelling after an absence of around 40 years.....so much has stayed the same and also so much has changed especially with DCC etc. Have been looking through some of the forums already and have learnt a great deal already. Paul, i'm very interested in your idea of using Ardunio with DC as all my locos I've got are quite old and I cant justify the expense of buying a new controller and the decoders etc. so the 'hybrid' control system is very appealing to me. It is time to delve back into the mine of information here and thanks once again. Guy.
You are welcome Guy. It'll take a bit of trawling to find your way around the wealth of information that we have on here, but there is no rush. Take your time and enjoy and we look forward to seeing the direction you take as you progress. nice hearing from you toto
Hi Guy Colin and Cameron have both had success with the DCC++ system (arduino + motor controller), and I have gathered the bits to have a try as well (just not got around to it - yet), I also have a MERG CAN-CMD (kit 91) to build which is a DCC Command station kit for under £30. Just ask any questions and we'll try to answer. Paul
Thanks Paul, I too am a MERG member and have looked at this option for DCC control due to the pricing of the kit being more favourable.........so much to think about and I may well be asking loads of questions at some point
