Wish I could but the machinery required would cost the earth. A nice little side line.

Nahhhh ....... Now if I had a proper workshop, the space for the equipment ....... And of course the knowledge ......... I'll just need to make do with building the occasional kit. :avatar:

Speaking of which ...... This is next in line now that I have had a bit of practice with the low relief warehouse and factory.

Granted, this kit is more involved but same sort of idea. I hope to get this on the work bench very soon. Elgin is fast approaching and although I am taking a layout in progress, this time I'd like to be a bit further on. Buildings, some scenics, ballasting etc so it's all stations go. :avatar:

    Cheers

Still trying to drag my butt a step closer to starting this. I was guising through the destructions again last night. I have a few things to take care of first but would like to get it going. It will help make other decisions on Luib Bridge as it will give me the exact footprint of where it will sit. The ground out side the good shed will have a mixture of cobbles, concrete, ballast and unmade ground.

its my usual famine and feast method of progressing. :avatar:

    cheers

Talking of footprint, may I suggest a card or foamboard base to build the kit on, it can be removed later but will give you firm base to assemble and move it around.

Drawing out the ground plan, then putting some pieces of card along the line will help keep it square as you assemble it.

I've been a bit preoccupied with some domestic matters and even though I have had some time to spare, it's just been a struggle to take these first small steps to get back into it. I should make a concerted effort to try and achieve something before flying out to Cyprus a week on Saturday.

Anyway ..... Accountants out the way today ....... Interview late tomorrow afternoon and a bit more chasing to do for other potential interviews. The thought of a kit build actually sounds quite good when you compare it with that lot but I must focus ........ I must focus ....... I must focus .........:avatar:

    Cheers

It`s hard to focus on model projects when you`ve got something else stewing in the back of your mind. I was selected for jury duty and had to front up yesterday. I had tried to get out of it because the dates clashed with a special holiday we`re taking soon, with our daughter, for her 40th birthday, but I was denied. So it had been playing on my mind for the last month or so.
I spent the whole day yesterday at the court house going through the selection process for two trials, and thankfully, they didn`t like the look of me, so I`ve been discharged for twelve months. So for me, that`s peace of mind once more and hopefully I can move forward.....plus I got paid for my attendance..:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
Sometimes it pays to look like a nasty, grumpy little so and so....:avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

Hey you could make a career of that with your looks. :avatar: Grumpy Gormo ..... :scratchchin: Has a certain ring to it. I would not like to have been the unfortunate soul on the receiving end of what you would have meated out as a result of missing out on your hols. :avatar:

Hope you find yourself in a better space soon.

I got collared for Jury service myself around 9 years ago and was also denied exemption despite a letter from my employer. To be honest, it was a complete waste of two weeks as I only got called into a case once and it was a complete disaster for the complainant (who lost!). The only problem was that the court would only pay my expenses for bus fare which in my rural village is almost non-existant and certainly not available for the times I needed to be in Derby for the court. Fortunately, one of the court officials was a motorcyclist and let me park my bike with his at the court as otherwise I'd have been well out of pocket if I'd had to use my Discovery and pay for parking. At least now I'm over 70, I can't be called for Jury service again!
    Keith.

Things are possibly a bit fairer here Keith.........I`ve already been paid for the day with travel expenses added on too.
No employer can penalize their employee for participating in jury duty and if they do , it`s a criminal offense.
The problem I had with it on the day is that I was selected for two trials, both sex offenses, and how do I remain unbiased and objective, because I have no time for these types of people.
The trial I was rejected from was for a bloke around my age, who had been allegedly interfering with an 11 year old girl in the 1980`s. I guess the prosecution took a look at me and maybe thought I would be sympathetic towards the guy......who knows..???????
If I had been selected for jury duty, it would have been for about 15 days apparently, which would not interfere with my holiday, and in fact could have paid for it..!!
Anyway, I`m in the clear for at least twelve months before I can be called again.......so all good.
