Hi Mark, welcome aboard. Apologies for the failed previous attempt to join us. As mentioned, your account IP address had a couple of flags against it and we generally follow the warnings in order to try and prevent spammers. I look forward to hearing a bit about yourself and what you are up to in the hobby at the moment. Once again ..... welcome aboard. cheers toto
G,day Tom Thank you very much for the add. I have been checking on the problem and it seems to be an SMTP authentication issue with Yahoo. Anyway, thank you once again. cheers Mark
So..........A bit about my interests. Main period of interest is Great Western Railway (Please don't yawn!) at the turn of the century (No, not this century, the proper one!), up to about 1906. Before the GWR paint scheme got boring. Keen to model a branch station around Warwickshire. Operation interest lays mainly in goods movements with some arrival/departures of passenger trains. As to Gauge, I am a former member of ScaleFour but I am considering changing to EM. Reasons are many and varied. Also have an interest in "Modern" 1950's to 1970's Diesel shunters of Australian, British and US outline. cheers Mark

Hi Mark and a warm welcome from Dundee. "Main period of interest is Great Western Railway" - now I understand the IP address conflicts Glad you managed to get through (eventually) and thanks for not giving up on us. I used to model P4, but that came to a halt over 20 years ago when family priorities to over. My return back to the hobby was initially OO, but thanks to SMR Chris (watch him) I'm now modelling in O, but may have another dabble at a small P4 plank in the future, I suppose to just prove I can do it. So by picking 1906, you've body swerved Brunells real gauge - I even have a set of P4 track gauges for broad gauge, my pal was trying to get me to model GWR (he's been trying for over 40 years and not managed it yet) so we even thought of modelling it in P4, possibly a couiple of compromises too far - 4mm for him, he models in N gauge, and GWR for me . Looking forward to seeing your work. Once again welcome to the forum Paul
Thanks lads. I did seriously consider broad gauge but at about the time I became interested locos became unavailable and the BGS did not have nearly the amount of kits and components available as it does now and my skills at scratch building do not go that far.
Hi Mark, and welcome to the forum. Looking forward to seeing a few GWR layout pictures when your ready. Regards Kim
