I'm with you Gormo. No time for the perverts. I'd be knocking up the gallows before the jury was even asked to retire to consider their verdict.

    Now,

I've been busy with my Luib Bridge bridge build lately. I hope to have it complete tomorrow. No reason why not. Then ....... The intention is to strike whilst te iron is hot and commence this goods shed build. Well, the roof section to begin with.

I've built a couple of these MDF structures now and feel quite confident with them but this one is a monster compared to the others. This is a full on build. I initially estimated a weekend to build this but I reckon it could take a bit longer. I think the roof build alone could be 2 to 3 hours.

Anyway ...... I'm up for it and hope to be posting the first progress pictures at some point tomorrow evening so ....... Stay tuned. It's a great kit.

    Cheers

    Toto

I was thinking whilst the glue dries on one model, the next model begins. That would certainly speed up the build. Then once complete and you have the paints out, both could be primed and painted at the same time ! ;)

    Cheers, Gary.

You do far too much thinking. Not healthy.

Gary...... don't encourage him to think, I've enough to do already , I've found asking Toto how he is getting on with his loco kits, normally gets a change in conversation :avatar:

Getting warmed up for this build now that I have had a starter for 10 with the latest bridge build and my tootsie wee line side office. Been through the destructions again and done a bit of parts familiarisation with the goods shed kit as there is a lot of parts and plenty scope for getting it wrong.

The goods shed will not get started tomorrow as his nib's is visiting and we are looking at all things traversers and track alignment. I may have to lift a section of track and relay it at the site of the new bridge as the Deltic won't clear both lines under the bridge. I need to bring the two tracks a bit closer together or / and raise the bridge slightly. Tomorrow will see that dealt with.

    Cheers for now.

    Toto

More useless information Toto, the distance between two running lines is six feet two and a half inches between inside rails, so if you lay the tracks at 43 mm apart for O gauge on straight track then you will have got it spot on correct. Also the clearance point of the kinetic loading gauge between structures such as bridge walls should also be 6' and again in model life equates to 43 mm otherwise clearances are going to be too tight for comfort.

Back onto this old chestnut. I really need to get this started but have been babysitting the painter for the last two weekends. He is just putting the finishing touches to the hall / staircase today then starts the sitting room next weekend.

I had thought of trying to start the shed build but it's where to get space to do it whilst he attacks the sitting room. Lulu goes nuts when he's shifting about so I need to be around otherwise it's bedlam.

I'm not into taking the kit up the road with me through the week as there ain't enough room in the hotel rooms to leave it lying out. Not just that, if I end up with glue everywhere, there will be the bill.

I'll see. Maybe if I can clear enough room in the shed and get SWMBO to take on babysitting duties. :scratchchin:

Just leave it Toto, until you can get a clear run at it.........juggling dogs, painters and hotel rooms with a model kit in one hand is a recipe for an disappointing result.

Just thought I'd throw this thread up for mydadstoys.

If you follow the thread back you'll find the kit details for half a ton of MDF. :avatar:

    You might like it.
