    G`day Folks,
Well here`s the second part of the Coal Office build as promised.
The building has come along and assembled as predicted. Now this is a plus for the accuracy of the method.
It goes without saying that one has to come up with the correct measurements in the first place, so therefore methodical planning is imperative.
Of course, alterations can be made on the fly, however time would be better spent double checking measurements in the planning stage and getting it right before committing printer ink to paper.
So the pics below show how the model has turned out. It still needs a chimney pot to sit on top of the chimney. Didn`t have time to get to that one yet......:faint:

It may sit in this area.....still thinking about that, but wherever it sits, the ground cover will have to be excavated to plant the building firmly in it`s location.

The building also needs to be weathered.....it`s much too clean for a coal office in a yard.
One significant improvement on this model, compared to the kit it was modeled from, is the chimney.
The chimney above is four layers of card laminated together to form a solid core which is then covered in brick paper. It`s as solid as a rock, compared to the folded card version commonly used in kits.
I think that quality is reasonably important when it comes to those accidental knocks that invariably happen over the life of a model railway.
Anyway .....enough waffle from me here .......so lets get on and have a look at the video.

    Thanks Mr Porter,
Yes I`m pleased with the result and it opens up a whole new world of buildings if i decide to create something different.

Still to view the video Gormo as I've left it a bit late to turn the volume up in my hotel room. That'll be tomorrow mornings viewing at the breakkie table. Certainly looks the part. :tophat:

    Thanks Toto,
Yes it just needs a chimney pot and a location and some weathering and maybe a model Toto in the doorway.....:avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

    G`day Ed,
No that`s not a step too far........that was always on the cards along with the chimney pot......just haven`t time to do it just yet, but it will be done before the building is weathered and planted.
The latest drawing link is below......forgot to put that in....it`s on my blog under pages on the right.

Fantastic result Gormo, I have to say that I've never been able to make effective use of brick papers so your finished article is already way beyond my capabilities! :worship:

    OK Clive,
I only got there with helpful tips from other people.
Gary put me onto the spray sealer method. I`ve built a Scalescenes kit and learnt from and stole from that........moved onto covering Metcalfe kits with brick paper etc. etc.
So it`s just practice , practice, practice and a heap of patience and the more you do it the more confidence is gained.
There`s no big secret or skill here Clive......it`s just practice and perseverance.
