Thank you all for your warm welcome. I am now in retirement and I spend the summers in the uk and retreat to Cyprus for the winter. My 7mm DC layout is being assembled very slowly in Cyprus and depicts the station at Felsted on the Bishops Stortford to Braintree branchline in the 1950s. I grew up there and I guess I’m just trying to get back to my childhood!! I am a huge fan of ex GER and LNER trains but at the end of my chosen era the diesels were encroaching. To address that I have a MMP cl08 (nearly finished) and a LLC Cl15 which is a lovely RTR model, I’m still trying to pluck up courage to weather it. I hope to be able to contribute to the Forum and to post some info on my own progress. I’m not very computer savvy so bear that in mind. My first objective is how to attach photos! With best wishes Bob
Just booked a villa in Coral bay outside Paphos for the end of July. Was meant to be Australia this year but domestic politics changed the plans. I've been in Cyprus every year for around 6 years now. A fantastic place. I'll look forward to hearing about your p.ans for your modelling projects. Cheers Toto
Hi Bob if you have the photos on your computer (** if they're on your phone either email them and save to pictures or Bluetooth them across) click on 'upload a file' middle blue button to the right, go to pictures and click on picture you want then click on 'open' then decide whether you want a small thumbnail or full size … good luck mate Ian vt
Hi, Thank you very much for adding your Good wishes. As you joined after me it was remiss of me not to have got there first! You don’t say where you are in Kernow, I spent several happy years there flying HM’s big jets from St Mawgan. I had a little cottage in St Columb Minor, I wonder if it’s still there. Happy days Bob
Hi Bob, Thank you ever so much for your reply we live in The Lizard Village itself. Gosh flying jets I bet that was a wonderful experience especially over the Cornish Coastline We see Hawks flying out of Culdrose most days as its not far from us and of course Merlin Choppers I am ex RNR I do miss it sometimes and wish I kept my uniform .I saw your name on in the new members so thought I would say hi and welcome. This is my 2nd time of joining the group as with modern technology never goes to plan and lost all of my contacts and everything else. There is an open invitation to all who contact me and are welcome to visit our garden railway if they are ever down this way, to see what can be achieved in a small space. I started off many years ago in 00 gauge then when to N Gauge back to 00 I sold all of it then Started N Gauge about 6 years ago had a lovely coffee table layout 6x2 but now my eyesight isn't so good sold the layout and left the rolling stock so that is up for sale now. That's the reason I have got into 16mm live steam as its more fun. Anyway Bob once again welcome. Regards, Gloria.
