Well it's on pre-order - expected November shipping. Ok a few specs to ponder 405nm resin printer XY resolution 0.05mm 3840*2400 (8.9" 4K mono screen) Z axis resolution 0.01mm Layer heights 0.01-0.15 mm Printing speed Max 60mm/h approx 1/3rd the time per layer from a RGB based screen. And the most important Build volume 192mm(L) * 290mm(W) * 475mm(H) compare that to the Anycubic Photon's 115mm * 65mm * 155mm That's almost 4 times the build volume. Link to Anycubics site for those interested Anycubic Photon Mono X Now just need to get my act together, finish off the 4F and Nellie build, and get finger out working on the Highland Raiway Passenger Tank 3D print design, maybe a fresh start as I will now be able to build the footplate, cab and tank sides in one piece, I think I will make them as separte parts then assemble - we'll see Paul
If only I had the intelligence to understand these machines, but unfortunately, what 'skills' I have are in my hands, not my head! Keith.
erm To be honest, once you grab the basics it's a bit like lego, you just keep adding bits and the smaller ancubic Photon and even smaller Photon Zero are both selling for approx £130 ($169) not sure how long this will last for, but for the same price as a OO loco you have unlimited possibilities, just then need to learn the software ....... just needs time. Paul
This sounds like a Star Wars script.....Mono X.....Photons and Anycubics.......... Just work it out Paul whilst I assemble Toto`s list of jobs for you........... Seriously, that is a nice piece of work and it will be great to see what you produce from it. Gormo
Looks a very impressive device Dundee... can it tell the time like a Louis XV glass case shelf clock on your fireplace mantle
Any chance you could add my jobs onto the list please Gormo? Or maybe we should all have a whip round to buy Dundee a replacement device when this one becomes worn out.
No worries Paul, Just send through the details and I`ll add them on behind Toto`s list. Your jobs will enter the list at position 87.........there may be a bit of lag time but I`m sure Paul will manage it by Christmas.....2024.....
Paul's to do list has just rocketed. We had been discussing some master moulds fir some potential pladyer and whitemetal moulded parts. He had a strict timetable of rest periods and allotted sleeping hours. I'll be watching. Toto
Toto does this mean we ought to have a Platform 1 whip round and buy him a nice mantle clock then? A sort of retirement gift with a carry on regardless as skills consultant type slant to work maybe
Bob, we'll both have to ask santa for more resin as these beasts take a fair bit, mind you not as bad as the Penom & Phenon - thier trays take 2L of resin, imagine having to lift the tray out to drain it Looking forward to getting this and thinking through the optimal method of designing the parts. Regarding the clock I already have a one, was given to me by someone at work several years ago, the battery is flat (I can empathise with that), but at least it right twice a day (I aspire to that level accuracy) One of my colleagues in Stoke said when I leave at the end of the month it will be the end of an era, I replied "just like Jurrasic Park the Dinasaur is leaving the building" Paul Paul
Looks like you'll have to buy Paul a packet of rechargeable batteries and a charger.... Cheers, Gary.
Hi Andy, they'll be running side by side, I'll use the Photons for smaller parts and the larger printer for production parts both large and small as it can print far faster with a higher resolution. Paul
Wow that looks like a bit of technological wizardry in a box, very nice and almost tempting to get into the 3D modelling world but not sure I could get my head around Drawing up the art work for prints.
