   I used to have a book about marbling techniques which included wood graining, the old hands used to use duck feathers to obtain the veining effect. Wrights of Lymm sold all the tools required such as rockers, floggers and motler brushes along with a myriad of other stuff like the metal combs and veining brushes, sadly these days its a skill no longer in demand.
