    Hi guys
I have a problem,I’ve installed a half circle of 2rd radius settrack curves and I can’t push my auto coach without buffer lock occurring.
Any ideas to solve this would be very much appreciated,l am very tight for room so going to 3rd radius isn’t an option. I have extended the 3 link a little so I can pull it,just won’t push.
    Look forward to any ideas
    Cheers
    David

I had buffer lock on my O gauge layout. I only run goods wagons and got over the problem by gluing drawing pin heads to the buffers on one end of all the wagons. I always run the wagons facing in the same direction so there is always small buffers up against large ones.

Locos don’t generally need them but if they do they get them on both ends.

You could try Kadee couplings, and push the buffer heads fully home so the heads are behind the heel of the coupling.
The Kadees will keep a minimum distance between the coaches.

Thanks for your post,I think I’ve got it sorted.A fellow club member gave me a pair of couplings that he purchased from Ellis Clark, they seem to work so far.
    Cheers

I know the feeling of O gauge set track. I purchased an old Lima O gauge set and it came with it's own circle of track. The Heljan Class 128 DPU circled the track fine, same with the Dapol 3F Jinty, but the Dapol Class 57XX and 64XX Panniers, not a chance !

When building my O gauge layout, I set the set track curves down and laid Peco flex around the outer radius of the set track curve. So in reality, the curve I laid was somewhere between radius 2 and radius 3..., perhaps radius 2.5 ! ;)

    Cheers, Gary.

I have used Peco O gauge set track curves where I can, the rest is flexi. 2nd rad as I don’t have much space. All of my Dapol, Minerva, Ixion and Heljan 0-6-0 locos are fine with them. I can’t run anything bigger than that.
