I'd been watching this for a couple of days and the price held out reasonably well. Its in very good condition and boxed.
It will need to be chipped so looks like another Buddah will be required.
I'll post up a photo or three when it arrives in 3 to 5 days.
    cheers

Arrived either today or yesterday ...... I think today.
Here are some rather blurry photographs. I'll post better versions from the shed later.

and a rather dark shot front on. I was under the impression that it was coming boxed but it didnt. Ill check the description again. probably my mistake.
It did come pretty well packed though and it does seem in very good physical condition. Generally, Im happy with it.
    cheers

Gave the Hymek a quick spin on the rolling road and it runs like a dream. The directional lights seem to be OK as well.

It will receive a roper run in possibly this weekend. I can leave it running whilst I'm working on the layout.

    Great stuff.

    Cheers

Now it's worried, just gets a new home, and it's being threatened with physical abuse already :avatar:, and your going to leave it on its own, with that sort out right cruelty, I think it better come and stay up here :avatar:

There is one on ebay but is missing a couple of small parts.
    They are a nice model.

I've a couple of the "00" gauge Heljan Hymeks Toto, and like pretty much everything Heljan, they're strong pullers, heavy and well made, so if your "0" gauge one is as good or better, you should be well happy with it.

    Well,

this loco is my next victim for decoder fitting. Another Zen Buddah at the ready. I'm hoping to tackle this tomorrow. I'm on a decoder fitting mission. I have a Hudswell Clark after this one and a Bachmann Brassworks 4-6-2 standard tank loco which will be my first hard wire conversion after that.

    No rest for the wicked.

    cheers

See the effect of having a piece of working track, the work rate is picking up, you never know we may even see a kit next.

Good weekends work, maybe you should dog sit more often. :avatar:

Still need to get back on to the layout and keep that moving but the break does a lot of good. The kit will make a return again in the shape of my Nellie that I ( just ) started. I'll get back on to it.

ok ..... opened up the Hymek expecting similar to what I found in the class 55 ...... boy could I have been more wromg .....

a pair of lovely motors with the expected printed circuit board by their side ......

but a world apart from the class 55 board which I have just chipped. Yes, the wires are easily traceable and are tighter than anything I've come across before and in my mind ....... not exactly DCC friendly for changing over. To cap it all, because its one of the few loco's I've bought second hand, it came with no instructions.

The lighting when tested on DC was a partial success. When moving forward ...... the head code was lit up and the tail lights shone red and when in reverse, the head code went out and the tail lights shone white. Something not quite right. ........ and here is the relatively straight forward wiring to trace out.

and a shot of the outside front ..... or rear .....

So. I think that I can fathome it out based on the previous connections as done between my Zen Buddah and class 55 but I need to be happy that I have it in my head what to do so ..... for the time being ...... I've reassembled it whilst I work it out. ...... why don't they find something and stick with it ? Every model of theirs ( Heljan ) that I open seems to be different. I have the class 37 next which will be wired for sound ........ I dread to think what they will have done with that.

    cheers for now

    Toto
