My Model Craft hot wire foam cutter attuned today. Did not realise that it was battery operated but no hum, no big issue I suppose. It comes with three attachments and a spare wire element. Pictures will be up later Cheers Toto
Is there a socket for an external supply ? Battery power is an advantage, no cables too short to get where you want to go - don't ask Paul
Hi Paul, There does not seem to be a facility for an external mains supply. Don't suppose it matters as it can be switched on and off between uses and I would not imagine it would use that much battery power. The absence of trailing leads is a welcome one as well. I'll be trying it out later. Toto
Hi Toto You may find this video useful, works for both Expanded polystyrene and Hi-density foam boards. I have found the Terrain Tutor videos useful, although military based the techniques are transferable. Paul
Great video Paul. Very straight forward. I think I'll give it a whirl as I am not doing so well with straight edges right now. I can see more material hitting the bin unless I perfect my process ( or lack of one ) ...... Less haste ...... More speed. That's for tomorrow. Tunnel walls, roofs and mouths. Oh joy. Cheers Toto
