No particular preference one way or the other colour-wise, but what does it sound like with a loco going over that boarding? For some reason I envisaged a strip of cork tiling or similar for the track to sit on, to maybe reduce if not deaden the sound?

Send me an air ticket and I'll ballast it for you! I don't mind slumming it in 'club class', it's all for a good cause!

A bit more progress today. Manage to cut up the remaining 5 sheets into manageable piece but it looks like I’m 1 sheet short (bugger).

First coats of primer / under-coat in brown, both sides, then once dry tops will have a couple of Coats of green to seal them up.

Hi Toto, The Villa board is a fibre cement lining board, made by a company by the name of (James Hardy) used in wet area walls, shower recesses, eaves, and ceilings. It's actually classed in their catalogue as Internal lining.. The boards have had three coats of paint
and have withstood storm, high winds, heavy rain, so far, so now will have to wait and see if thirty eight / forty degree days has or
what effect it might have on the Villa board :scratchchin:
    :cheers:Ralph

Hi Ralph, the Villaboard has lasted quite a few years now without issue on my layout in Northern NSW.
Members on the Guild site tell me it is called Hardiebacker in the UK.

Nice work on the baseboards by the way!
    cheers

All the villa boards cut .......TICK
    All boards painted green.....TICK
    All boards fixed to steelwork.....TICK
    Both gates still working ???........TICK
FINAL PAINT OF GREEN...........3/4 TICK, just one small section to give the final coat of green, once the glue has hardened off.

Great effort today Kim, you earned your new Yorkshire tea bag...now look after it. :avatar::avatar::avatar:

    Ralph.
