Following on from the Class 24, here's the assembled Co Bo master in 3d Cad. Hopefully this will be printed off in segmented pieces then joined together in time for Telford.

The software package is Autodesk123 but I'm delighted to be granted a Start up Licence now to use Fusion 360 for free! More on that later. 2018-08-14 11_28_28-Asembley_.jpg 2018-08-14 11_29_12-Asembley.jpg

A bit of an ugly duckling but it has its own charm. I think I could find room for one if the price is right :avatar::thumbs:

Will this one have an etched chassis and bogie set Steve?

Hmmn - Not sure will try and make it a single casting per bogie like the original.

Good luck with Fusion. I tried it, only thing that converts across is the STL files...

I couldn’t get on with it, when you have used Autodesk for 4 years, the sudden change of what does what on the mouse for orientation threw me..

Couldn’t get on with it and stuck with 123d.

Keep us posted how you progress. I may return if there is someone else learning it along side me.

How do you fancy doing a COBo Andy? D5705 was often spotted up and down the Derby line. I took a photo of it at Cresswell once on its way back to the RCD... sadly I lost the negs many years ago.

A CoBo at Cresswell it was probably lost as well - driver could probably have been found in the "Shoulder of Mutton"

I’m not sure I’m ready to go in to locos and rolling stock yet (he says drawing up a new PAA wagon) seems daft to do something someone has already done. Hornby and Bachmann did the duplication thing.. I don’t think it pays unless your replacing a very dated model, and I couldn’t say I have much knowledge of either the prototype or any other makers in O gauge.

    But the detail!!!!

Give me a few more years:thumbup::thumbup:

I'm Solidworks trained so am not having too many issues so far. Couple of annoying bits but no worse. Mouse orientation is under preferences where you can switch it. If in doubt - Google.

Ah right. Missed that. My 1 year licence has expired now.

May need to look again. I’m self taught on 123d... so no experience of other types.

It's worth Googling and following the on-line tutorials - I'll post some stuff up later on next week.

You can get a start-up licence for free, but I don't know how long that lasts.

The free license lasts for twelve months, but is renewable, provided you still qualify
