L Cut Creative Lineside Office ..... its tootsie

    I'm glad you mentioned this Rob as I'm about to put several pieces together as I build my abattoir ! Hopefully they won't bend too much as I will be gluing the L-Cut pieces to foam core inner wall.

    Hi I’m looking forward to build my line side office from L Cut. I purchased the office with double windows.

    Toto can I ask once the office has been built are you going to painting it. Will you be using acrylic or enamel paints, as this will help me when I start to build my office.

    To be honest ..... I'm not sure. I think acrylics would be better myself due to the kind of material they are made from. I will use it as a bit of a practice ground for other timber type builds I have to complete.

    I have a goods shed and a four road engine shed which I'll hopefully start sometime soon. I purchased these from " timbertracks ". May be worth a look if you like wood as a building medium. My kits are in the kit buildings section.

    I may try using some thin washes to create the mortar courses prior to dry brushing the main brick surfaces. The jury is still out on that.

    Thanks Toto for the reply. I think for me acrylics is the way to go along with some dry brushing. I’m also going to scratch build my own goods loading platform using wooden coffee stirrers and balsa for the frame work.

    That would be an interesting build. If you look at the goods shed kit that I have just posted back up, it may give you some ideas for some of the structural elements. :thumbs:

    With the abattoir I am building, I have given the whole building a cover of grey (mortar), then I'll follow up with dry brushing the bricks in. This is all done with acrylics. ;)
