And now for something completely different one of the last railway guns was dismantled in 1994 it was a model1920 14 inch railway gun (RG) used by the US. So technically you could put one in a "to-day" model. The Russians all so had one which was dismantled in 1991 they kept it active in case Finland invaded them

As for the Oxford model the Boche-Buster it was taken out of moth balls in 1940, to be used in the channel duels, however it never actually fired a shot in anger this was because it didn’t have the range.

It also had 27 support wagons 2 - 3 engines.

WRT the crews in all the books I have on RG’s not one mentions the crews. so any help would be of intrest. I also have so realy good pictures I'll try and upload them.

    Cheers Richard

Hello again you may not have guessed it but, RG's realy interest me, I have put 3 pictures on the system, the first is the Boche-Buster, the second is the US model1920 14 inch railway gun and the third is the Russian gun (and now for a corrected statement) used by the Fins in case the Russians invaded Finland not the other way round. I know there not the best photos, but they at least give you an insight. The photos are from the Osprey weapons series which if any of you are looking at putting a WW2 train together is worth the few dollars or pounds, there a whole series on trains armoured and so on…..

I totally recommend this book series , if you look at the picture there are only 12 crew members. https://www.milicast.com/ this link takes you to Millcast models they have crew sets and heap of other good stuff.

The attached photo even though its model is typical of what the GWR carried you can model this simply by using the Oxford Rail warwell and the stram tracktor then add a trailor .
