I've been scouring the net looking for some kind of micro set square. Found one with a 4 inch blade. Not exactly what I had in mind but ordered it anyway in the absence of anything smaller. Also some new needle files, clamps steel wool and brass restorer. I'll post up as they arrive. Hopefully they will all help make life easier in one way or another. Cheers Toto
Hi Toto, Severnmodels are worth looking at for the odd items. http://severnmodels.com/epages/eshop1179816.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop1179816/Categories/Tools Kim
Thanks Kimbo, I'll have a wee look later today. I'm looking for micro set squares mostly. Cheers Toto
Found a one inch at Eileen's Emporium. https://eileensemporium.com/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=category&task=listing&cid=1139&name=marking-measuring-tools&Itemid=189
If you need a small square, visit your local engineering firm and ask for an off cut of 1" square milled mild steel... They should be able to supply you with a small piece, and possibly for zero cost... Cheers, Gary.
Hi Ed, Great find Sir. Two duly ordered. Exactly what I was looking for. One very happy chappy. Cheers Toto
I was going to suggest Eileen's too, I have a 2" two 3" and a 4" of their flat stainless examples being completely flat they are really useful for marking out as well as getting things square. If you use them in conjunction with aluminium hair grips from Eileen's you can use the clips to hold the squares in place to make sure the you solder van bodies or cabs square.
My tool makers clamps arrived today. I believe these will be very handy for clamping assemblies together when soldering. I'll get a photo up tomorrow. Cheers Toto
Some pictures of the bits and bobs that I have added to the tool kit lately ..... hows that for a tootsie set square. £3.00 each from Eileens imporium. some clamps ..... two of each size. Engineers squares of various sizes ...... an early birthday present from SWMBO and ....... some lotions and potions ..... Thats all on here ..... cheers toto
