Cracking factory building, I think I may pinch it for my O scale layout :D.

    Hi Andy,

Is the plan and footprint for the building your own idea / design ? It looks very unique.

    Nice stuff.

Its actually based on a free download from ModelRailwayScenery.com but with the footprint altered slightly to fit where I had planned for it on the old layout (the corners are not actually square).

I used my own designed texture papers for the brickwork and doors and added the chimney and additional card layers to form the gutters and downpipes, the roof is scalescenes roof tiles printed out in greyscale.
And its 4mm scales so may look a bit small in 0 gauge :)

    G`day Andy,
That`s a nice looking building. Did you create the bricks over the arches yourself or are they Scalscenes.?
I`ve always found they are the hard part when considering making your own.

Yes I created them my self.

I use a mix of the Gimp and the drawing program from LibreOffice to create my texture sheets.

I just cut a single brick from the original texture downloaded from the internet and then paste it a few times until I have a stack, then I copy the stack and then paste that a few times to create a row of header bricks.

I then tend to just re-colour that stack and the texture in the gimp if I need a brown brick or cream brick version.
