printed of some Scalescenes warehouse walls to play about with a concept for Highbridge today. Got them mounted onto some Daler board and went to play. This one from the goods siding end The next one from the " bridge " end, and a shot from the middle, apologies for the dodgy photo's. The layout need brought out into the middle of the shed in order to get some decent photos but it will give you an ideas. I still have to decide on the finished height and what configuration of doors and windows I will have on the ground floor. The above is just about perspective and approximate footprint. cheers for now toto
I've printed off a copy of the low relief factory that Gary used as well so tomorrow , once I've dropped my dad of at the hospital, I'll come back and stick the base layers together and play around some more trying different configurations between the two kits. Once I've decided on a format, I'll prepare a mobile kit box for taking away with me this week and get some of the finished paper courses fixed in place. I'm dreading the roof. It will be a flat roof but it's getting all the parapet walls and roof supports just right. I like the idea Paul gave me about a walkway structure going between two buildings either side of the bridges. Could be a goer. Cheers Toto
G`day Toto, Looking good and a promise of things to come. Don`t sweat the detail.........it well develop as you move along. Once these buildings are set in place the layout will jump to life and you`ll be cracking you neck to get on with it. http://www.clickGormo
Hi Gormo, It looks like the building ( or group of buildings ) could swamp the layout so I'll need to try and keep a tight reign on them. A mix of ultra low relief and low relief. I'll also have to raise the height by a floor level at least to fit in with the upper road and bridge levels. Could be interesting and a bit of a challenge. Making it up as I go along and giving myself a lot of modellers licence. Cheers Toto
That`s the way Toto, I like the sound of that.......dive in mate and have a go.......RULE #1 is invoked from this moment forward. EeeeeHaaaaah !!!!! http://www.clickGormo

Looks like the Scalescenes bug has bitten ! The buildings will be impressive on Highbridge. Just don't forget the doors or the fire escapes ! Cheers, Gary.
Toto wrote: I'm doing that all the time Toto. It's quite funny how you start out with a idea of how something will look and as you go along it turns out different, and quite often better. As the others have said, will look pretty impressive Ed
Thanks Ed, This is my first real kit bash as I have only ever really built these things as meant out of the box and with mixed results. I am building some the aments for Paul at the moment and have issues with the roofs so decided to start this whilst I think out the solution. I like the Scalescenes kits where I used to be in favour of Metcalfe. They are slightly easier but not as customisable or as good a finish. You've got to start somewhere. Cheers Toto
More base layers glued and cut out this afternoon. I'll maybe get a picture or two up later. Going to mumsies for my dinner. Popping into Tescos for more print sticks and a ream of A4 paper. Plenty photo glossy stuff but ran out of plain old paper. Cheers Toto.
Some more images of my base layers for the Industrial factory being done. Me working studiously. Base papers glued to Daler board. It drys in smoother than it looks. And another I have to take advantage of another shot of me working as it doesn't happen that often, A pile of various card base layers A view of my A4 box file / toolbox, and one of playing around with base units on Highbridge. I'll be taking my box file of bits away with me this week so hope to get some windows and doors cut out and possible the next layer of papers etc glued in place. I have an idea of what I will be looking to do and it should start to become a bit more recognisable. Still a bit to go though. Hopefully be posting tomorrow night with some progress. Cheers toto
Nice work Toto Well organised too, I think we are going to see Highbridge move to new heights next weekend when Toto returns from his work trip.
I'll try my best Chris. No guarantees. my skills are dubious to say the least but I'll have a crack at it. Time for the long drive north Catch up later Toto
Tip * To stop your card from warping, curling, etc, glue a sheet of A4 paper to the opposite side of the glued on printed piece. Or, just add weight to the card, perhaps a book between each piece of card and then some on top. Cheers, Gary.
A very industrious evening has been had. lots of cutting out base layers etc and getting a better handle on the actual plan of the building. More to do tomorrow night and I'll post up a few pictures of my 3D cardboard jigsaw. I have some bed time reading in the shape of scalescenes instructions. i need to have a look at how I can customise the inner structure supports etc. Looking forward to tomorrow night already to get the scalpel back in my hand ( not literally of course, although nothing would surprise me ....... its going far too well ). I'll catch up tomorrow night. cheers toto
They get addictive, and there's no high from PVA. Good progress Toto, looking forward to the pics. Paul
