If you click on the pic, it takes you to the members album
There is an enlarge icon top right (or right click on pic and select open media in new tab) marked 'Full size media'
Once in new tab, use ctrl scroll or ctrl + and ctrl - to zoom the browser (ctrl 0, to return to 100%)
    The pics are
    Width:
    4032px
    Height:
    3024px

    So very zoomable!

Hi Kimbo, I'm awfully sorry I'm not going to be much help in answering your request, you see I know very little about Southern engines and even less about the Q1, however I do agree with Rob in that part 15 could well be a tender handbrake. Maybe if you could post up a series of macro shots of the relevant castings then perhaps Rob and I could help identify them better. You're doing a great job on this build by the way :tophat:

Thanks for that TS, you learn something new every day.

Kim, this may or may not help...

Part 12 looks to be a spring hanger

Parts 16 look like they could be washout plugs but without seeing them end on I could be sure.

Part 8 looks like an AWS box which would fit under/behind the front coupling

Part 1 look like it's a rubbing plate for the drag box but whether it's meant to fit on the loco or the tender I couldn't say.

Part 3 looks like it's a manifold for the top of the backhead but you seem to have managed without it.

Sorry but I can't help with any of the other bits.

Thanks Timber... so Kimbo I wonder if item 1 is the dragbox link casting, item 8 looks like a battery box ... for electric lighting and AWS... my Severn Models Britannia kit has an identical item, item 12 looks like an oil feed dashpot on a bracket ... but where that goes is beyond me and item 13 looks like the two safety valves. Sorry I'm not much help with the other items.

I know nothing about Railways, but I can at least help with electrics and PC's :avatar:

P.S. Admins, the forum has chopped down the pics to 1000x750, as it is designed to do, but the pic information still reports the original size that was uploaded, just so you are aware.

 Thanks lads, bit more to go on.

Thursday meet up at Ralph’s today and Dodgy Roger was on the Q1 case again. He found a few more useful pictures plus the following web page which will be useful to me and might be helpful to others...

A thing of beauty mate. Shame its only seen to best effect when the loco is stationary.

Chassis 95% completed, sand pipes and brakes will be added once re-assembled and tested.

I’ve started the weathering process with enamels before assembly as I didn’t fancy having to clean up the plunger pickups and wheels once assembled.

Once this has dried over night I’ll assemble the loco chassis and give her a run on DC power....

    Here you go Paul.

Chassis now running, albeit on the kit supplied rods. Once it’s run in I’ll change them for the finer steel one’s.

:redface::redface: Where does the time go? Finally found my Q1 building mojo today.
First off, finish the Slaters steel rods.

As supplied the nickel silver rods fitted for running the loco in

Slaters steel rods fitted...much finer detailing.

Next job is to try a piece together the lubricator assembly. Again no instructions but Rogers pictures to the rescue again, this is just a “dry” fit, I will need to carefully solder the main unit onto the chassis first making sure it’s all square. Still not to sure how the crank will be added to the front drive wheel, I don’t really want to solder it up to the front drive wheel rod securing nut..:scratchchin:

    Kim

First chassis test with the lubricator now fitted.
