Does that mean a strand of spaghetti is one of the extra detailing items that can be used in the build...?? :avatar::avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.

Victoria Lane involved the gratuitous use of spaghetti down pipes. Boxed will use the same.

Now I’ve not done the track yet Ian, as with going back and forth carrying the box I wanted something sturdy, not something that could collapse.

I have some OHP (overhead projector) acetates somewhere I can use... it’s just they are somewhere.... and can’t find them! :avatar:

    Thanks Gary.

I feel that the 20hrs in the model rail magazine article is a little optimistic. I think I’ll be nearer 55hrs!

So I’ve had chance to do a little more.

Structure A was completed last night, but before I could look at track, I’ve had to start cutting the box.

That of course leaves it starting to get flimsy, I’ve also opted for a different exit/additional exit. So I’ve hand made a girder to fill the top of the gap and add some strength back in. Not sure if this will work on the other end yet, will cross that conveyor when I come to it.

I still have to put some form of underlay down, cork or foamboard - I’m not sure. Hopefully I will still have clearance with the girder which is around 9mm deep.

So we now move on to structure B. The paperwork is currently glueing to the backing card so hopefully we can make a go later tonight or tomorrow when the wife is at work and kids in bed.

I’m enjoying this! It’s a steep learning curve as not done this before. Only the pre printed kits, so guling and cutting your own is novel.

    Cheers Ian...

I’m still trying to fathom what “industry” it will be. I’ve got some ideas, hence why I’ve opted not to have a dead end on the back line but a through line. The door ones will remain closed although that could have been fun. The wife has suggested a brewery, but I’m not so sure... :scratchchin:

I’m actually thinking if this could be incorporated in to part of my layout post judging.:drums:

good suggestion by the wife but it doesn't need to be … I mean … it could be a distillery or a winery or a barrel makers or a pocheenery .. lots of options :scratchchin:

In all honesty, it looks too industrious for the alcohol business - a little too rustic and not so much dirty, but not sterile enough. It’s more heavy industry like a snap shot of a section of a colliery yard, or works of some kind.

Now here's a cryptic clue for a good location for your Boxfile set Andy... think Copper... think Pond life... think very big house... then think loading bay... and finally think behind the canal... and if you still can't get it ... for 1 point its all been demolished now. :avatar::scratchchin::thumbs:

Beside of the A52 with a big chimney and running either side of the railway? Had a junction and station with a wharf?

    Nope... no idea :scratchchin::hammer:

But I like your thinking

Actually, that’s not a bad suggestion.

Now to work out the green flame.

And so the endless sticking and laminating continues.

Here is what we have so far. Both sides cut and “girders” in place and painted.
Positioning of track but still awaiting the bed.

Gluing up and weighting structure B whilst it dries.

Test fit before I move on to the final details on this structure.
    1/3rd of the way there?
Should be done my March I hope.:avatar:

'Stick to it Andy', it is coming along nicely. It is just a pity that time is required for the glue to dry between layers. Then again, you can always start on another part of the module whilst waiting for another to cure ! ;)

    Cheers, Gary.

What thickness card are you using Andy. Is that ply I can see on some edges.

    Cheers

2mm, 1mm and some other thin stuff from the range.

What you see is the laminated 2mm x4 plus a 1mm layer plus the inside and outside paper wraps! That’s why it takes so long !
