I have an Aristocraft Revolution transmitter and reciever left over from my garden railway days. It is still in a working condition. I wired it up but it will not work with NCE dcc power to the track. The NCE Twin and later trying the Powercab were not supplying continuous power to the test track with out an overload. I hooked up 12 volt power from a power pack and the Revolution ran fine. It can be run with battery power installed in a trail car, but the size is a very limiting factor. I installed it in the trailcar behind a ON30 Bachman Porter Is there a use for remote powered Revolution unit that I can use somewhere on the layout? • On-board battery or track power • Six auxiliary outputs on the receiver to control sound, smoke and lights • 5 Amps continuous power with peak loads up to 8 amps • Polarity protection • Overload protection At the time it was worth a few hundred dollars, but now ?? If there is no practical use then I am prepared to give it [free] to someone who can use it. It would mean a visit to the Shoalhaven area to pick it up. AndrewSandbar & mudcrab Railway
Hi Sandy The NCE (or any DCC) system supplies AC to the track. If your loco's can have batteries fitted, then you could use in loco's and not pick up from the track. A form of Dead Rail. Paul
I thought of dead rail, but the size of the reciever size of 7cm long x 4.5cm wide x 2.5cm high makes it to large for the smaller guage railways plus batteries. One thought is to make it power a remote turntable with its own separate 12 - 18 volt power supply Andrew Sandbar & Mudcrab Railway
