This is a new category started off under the Permanent way. Just thought I'd kick it off. I'm still finishing a couple of low relief buildings prior to kicking off with the track laying but ballasting will be hot on its heels so I'm putting out the feelers now. I have joined the search for a thread that Gary had previously done on the subject because as usual ..... it was a great starting point.

No immediate rush but hopefully coming in the next few weeks loosely translated into the end of may or there abouts.

So ..... if anyone has any how to's ......... get them up.

    cheers

Hi mate, if you look up my Lazarus thread you will see from post 18 how I did the ballasting using floor sealer. I used Seal, which is similar to a product called Klear originally made by Johnson though I believe it is now being marketed under the name Pledge Klear Multi Surface Wax and according to several modelling forums I have looked on its the same but "improved" and works the same.
I used Garys suggestion to pre wet the ballast with a 50/50 IPA/water mix sprayed on with a fine mist squirty bottle then used an eye dropper to apply the Seal.
It will work the same if you use a water PVA mix ( with a drop of washing up liquid.

    Cheer's, Pete.
