I know this is the 27 build, but I’ve been allowed to share these from the Llangollen class 26 group thanks to Terry. Original photo credits remain with photographer on their Facebook page.

She scrubs up well, one of the few photo's I've seen with the window in the cab door

Great pics Andy, thanks for getting permission to post them.

Wasn't the cab door windows covered over as part of a 1970's mod to reduce drafts when these were fitted with auto token catchers for working on the Highland lines?

Interesting detailed pictures Andy because these shots clearly show this loco retaining its original oval self contained sprung buffers and was not fitted with the later replacement 19 inch Oleo buffers. also of interest are the asymmetrical shape cab steps which mainly appeared on this class.

Not really my photo though, just one I’ve reposted to help the group.

I’ve added the credits below the photos

Great photos, thanks for sharing and thanks also goes out to Terry.

That first pic is a weathering job just waiting to happen. Now if I can replicate that on one of my old Hornby Class 27, I'd be happy.

    Cheers, Gary.

Just a quick update - finished the artwork on the extras parts and the footsteps. They should be here in about 2-3 weeks as I hung on in case I needed other bits!

Today saw the delivery of the reworked resin 3D components for the new by Steve Beattie Class 26 and Class 27 diesel loco kits, the new 3D parts are courtesy of Dundee Paul and will compliment nicely the road test build. So here are the items in their bubble packs which cover the cab roofs and windshields, bogie components such as springs and brake cylinders and the sandboxes. I appreciate the picture doesn't show the finite details but I'm not ready to release all these pieces from their scaffold rafts.

So here is some detail ... the picture shows a cab windshield released from its scaffold raft and the other one still attached.

The resin pieces will be glued to the etch bodyshell using epoxy adhesive.

Hi Steve, they are printed, but will be Sat before I can pop them in the post - local post office is closed when I get home from work.

This is actually the bogie for the Class 26 display loco as it has the longer lifting lugs fitted, I though it good to show the build progress on this thread as the both loco's are near identical and to leave the display thread just for key updates. So here we are the first bogie completed as far as soldering is concerned, now to dress it with the 3D prints and then add in the brake harnessing. the one difference with D5310 at Llangollen is that the bogie secondary springs are the earlier wishbones and not coil type, so we will have to look at that area and either do a scratch build or print some. I'll post a finished bogie on the other thread.

Just had the updated Headcode and canopy file from Steve - looks sweet

    upload_2019-2-5_22-43-57.png

and also completed the first set of additional bogie parts

I will get these into the post to Yorkie asap.

I'm printing a second set up in green resin as a comparison, then will have a go at the new Cab roofs
