Last Thursday I took delivery of Dapol's C012 Station Accessories kit so I could add some station items and people (figures) to my newest exhibition layout Waspen Street. All the castings are not that bad for the age of this kit, but one thing lets it down..., the figures.

On opening the kit, you find platform trolleys, crates, milk urns, a barrel and the figures. The problem with the figures is that they are rather under size for OO modelling. I had to compare these figures to other figures I have purchased from Dapol for my other layouts and yes, they are small. You could easily say they were manufactured for the HO market !

To give you an idea of the size difference, the figure on the left is from the C012 kit and the one on the right from the C008 Platform Figures kit...

So how can I use these figures ?? Possibly at the rear of the layout creating some forced perspective or perhapps on my HO scale layout. Now I just need to purchase some new figures for Waspen Street... :whatever:

    Cheers, Gary.

A big difference Gary. As you say, you can use them to the rear of the layout for some forced perspective so all is not really lost.

    cheers

They used to be sold as OO/HO, the bigger issue is the mannequin type appearance - bolt upright, but maybe that may the best use of them is in shop windows

The cigarette & chocolate m/cs are handy.

    That’s is some difference Gary
With waspen Street being so small you may have trouble making it work with the perspective thing as all your modelling is in 4mm scale and putting a undersize person even at the rear of the scene will still look out of scale with the environment was initially thinking at the back of the bridge just before the Backscene however that may still give the same effect as they would look about the same size as the people on the street scene
