I take it you threw the paperwork away that came with the chip or was it pre-installed ?
you usually get a print out of the various CV functions with the chip.
can you say what kind of decoder it is Ron ?
    cheers
    Toto

I have installed a couple of Bachmann chips previously but not sure which loco's they are in. If I can find them easily I'll tell you whats what and get a copy to you. I wont make any promises as its a needle in a haystack type challenge but I know it was one of my earlier purchases. I'll see what I can do Ron.
Meanwhile you could maybe see if Bachmann have the details on their website ........ could be a starting place Ron.

The easier way if its a direction issue is simply to re-install the decoder the other way around as I believe its as a consequence of fitting the decoder the wrong way around ........ ie pin number 1 is located in the wrong position. ....... just a thought.

Hi Ron, before changing cv' as Toto has correctly stated its best to reinstall the plug the other way round, this will then correct to travel direction, if it's hard wired then simply unsolder the motor connections (grey and orange) and swap them around. (For any one not to familiar with DCC swapping the track power wires, red and black will make no difference.

Finally if for some reason you had to change the cv then on the decoders I use, you would read cv 29 and what ever value is in there add 1 to it. Ie read value of 7, then change to 8

I have found that it is always best practice to make sure the decoder is fitted correctly for direction as later on you may wish to add lighting effects and these to will not work correctly.
