I still have the goods shed, as I hope to include it on the layout.

Here it is on the Inglenook

I have just started on this

Four walls cut out from 1mm card laminated up to 3mm

And then started covering with texture papers

    More to come...

Started sticking the sides together into a box

    Box completed

Got the triangle and dividers out and with a bit of geometry made the first part of the roof.

Glued onto the top of the box

Starting to look the part now, needs chimney, and the dormer roofs over the bays, then a details such as down pipes.

PS. Can a moderator amend the title of the thread as I just noticed I have spelt gauge, incorrectly.

Finished off the roof, got the chimney and downpipes done, now just needs flashing on the roof and weathering down, although I may leave that until it get plonked on the layout.

And added the free scalescenes garage to one side, the other may just have a drive, or possibly a car port.

Not been around for a while as there have been too many home projects on the go, the car port under the house has been turned into a garage the conservatory where I used to do my modelling has now been taken down and we have a nice new brick extension/sun room so hopefully my modelling bench can come back in soon once the kitchen re-fit is finished.

We lost the old girl in my avatar as the beginning of the month after 14 years and 4 months so that's been a blow and I need to find my mojo to get moving again.

The layout is staying in the shed so the garage gives me the extra storage I need to clear the shed more so I can get on with the layout.

Hopefully there will be some progress soon that I can post some pictures up of, I did start on some scenics in one corner before everything came to a halt will stick those up shortly if I can remember how.

    Cheers

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Sorry to hear about your dog.

I've only just come across your layout. I like the shed.
Is the lower half of your layout a continuous run, that branches off up to terminating station on the upper level?

Its actually a double folded dog bone on two levels, so I get a continuous run of around 96 foot, its all single track but looks like double track in some areas.

    Hi

Been away for a while..... the old Deene Railway has had a shed roof failure, but things will move on with two new 8 x 8 plastic sheds, one for the layout and one for DIY etc.

Got some ideas, but any suggestions welcome.

Been busy building with card though.

Know what you mean with shed failure, I'm waiting for some decent weather to put a new roof on mine, luckily I got a tarpaulin on mine but even that has sprung a couple of leaks. Also got a, new to me, metal shed 12ftx10ft to build for my modelling tools, spray booth etc.
Loving the buildings mate, card modelling is coming back into fashion again, especially with suppliers like Scalescenes etc making life easier.

    :welcome: Back  Campaman

That looks a really great street scene in the making and card modeling too... very impressive. Sorry to hear you've had shed roof issues... I had workshop window issues last year when high wind picked up some timber materials I'd stored and they fell into a couple of panes of glass... ended up putting a replacement new window in.

The real problem with the roof was that it needed new roof boards as the originals had rotted so you could poke a finger through, tried getting them off but they had been glued on as well as screwed with an impact driver, only way was cutting off which basically scrapped the shed.

My preferred card modelling method is now scribed card painted with water colours.
