A number of years ago, I built this model. It was my first ever kit build. A look through some old CD backups has thrown up the photos I took, which I wanted to share here. I will try and get some update photos of how it looks now in the next day or so. Some will recognise this as the Yorkshire loco, which served at Oakamoor (my layout) called Brightside. These were also taken with my first ever digital camera. A Fujifilm Finepix.
Hey ...... are you stalking me ..... I have one of these in the to do list and one I bought ready built. I'd be interested to see your photos. looks like you have done a great job of it. Thanks for posting it up. Toto
I shall have to take some new - these are what I found on the next cd- when I was building Oakamoor around 2005.
If it were mine I'd try Krystal Klear for glazing. It is a type of pva I think and you apply it with a cocktail stick. It sounds odd but you get a blob of it and start in one corner then work round the opening and finish in the middle, it go's on opache but dries clear. I did a window on one of my buildings just using neat pva and it worked a treat even though the window was quite a large opening. It is the one above the door. Pete.
Crystal clear is a descriptor used by Deluxe Materials for the product, Glue 'n' Glaze. Ti's wonderful stuff, I use to fix windows in with, can't say I have ever tried the drag across method, but have not needed small glazing in my modelling as yet (I will have a go one day!) I was thinking acitate sheet. I usually use the odd cuts from the laminator when the paper is smaller that the pouch. Work just as good. I’m not that fussed with flush glaze.... infact as it’s been 15 years, I’m obviously not fussed about glazing
I don't see why not. Same method with the cocktail stick, start at the top, drag it across to the bottom then roll it round the perimeter back to the start. Cheer's, Pete.
Cheers... It may go black one day and get it’s correct name plates as “Brightside”. Or I may see if I can find another.
