Don't seem to be getting any email notifications.

Anybody else got the same problem.

    Hi Ed,

I'm still getting email notifications of posts no problem. I don't suppose you could have inadvertently switched the function off. Probably not but may be worth a check.

I'll have a look at how it works tonight when I get back in from work.

    Cheers

    Toto

    Hi Ed,

Just double checked again and I am definitely receiving emailed notifications of posts.

I will keep looking into it. If anyone else usually has this facility set and is having any issues, please let me know in case there is something needs to be done.

    Many thanks for your cooperation.

    Cheers

    Toto

Ed, can I suggest that you click on My Account (right hand side of screen in Menu), then scroll down and click on Preferences. Look through the Miscellaneous for Notify by e-mail when you receive a private message. Check to see if the box has been ticked.

You may have turned off email notifications by accident... ;)

    Cheers, Gary.

Switched on in preferences and I have saved preferences again to make sure.

No notifications from Ron's View from the shed tonight. (Astro) thread

    Ian's St Emilia thread

    or this one today.

Got a feeling I didn't get a notification when Gary replied to my Latton Fields thread yesterday either, so may not be a 'just today' problem.

Ed, I've actually just turned it off in my preferences as was loading so many to the email I have linked I didn't look at it for a week or so and there were 200 emails  took forever to get through them.
As I check the site most days a couple of time I decided didn't really need.
Check your spam / junk folder as may have got accidentally flagged for P1

Junk folder was the first place I looked Chris.

If nobody else has the problem it must be my email account, or the client software.

    I'll carry on looking.

How about checking your email program to make sure platform 1 is not " blocked ".

I use Gmail and it has the facility to block. Why it would do it on it`s lonesome I`ve no idea but it may be worth a look.??

Checked MS Outlook.com Mail (what used to be Hotmail) and P1 is not in blocked list.

Perhaps it's not just P1 as I don't know yet if it's any other Forums as well

It's maybe a browser type issue. I'e depends on what you use as an interface to access the forum as it works on some.

We'll get to the bottom of it somehow.

Thanks for your patience meanwhile whilst we assess the scope of the issue.

    Cheers

I've got around this problem by using a different email account.

For some reason, email notifications will no longer work if sent to my Outlook.com (Hotmail) address, but they can be sent quite happily to my Gmail.com address.

Same problem exists on YMRC, so I assume it has to be something to do with the hosting, as it's just these two forums.

We'll be looking into it a bit further Ed.

I'm not sure if it would be the hosting or the actual forum software. A bit investigation required.

    Cheers

I've posted the same query on YMRC Toto.

I know it's just these two forums as I set up email alerts from RMweb to my Hotmail account and they work.

    Hi Ed,

Keep me in the loop with anything that you find out. We'll get to the bottom of it. personally, I think it could be an ageing software issue. Might be wrong. Both ourselves and YMRC use the same software. I'm sure RMWeb use more up to date stuff. Could be getting near time for upgrading. We have been discussing the possibility.

    Cheers
