G`day Folks, I thought I would share a slide show with you all this week. I have converted a second bug zapper into a grassinator or static grass applicator if you prefer.? This model uses a small square-ish container which is connected via a plug, which in turn allows easy separation of the container from the handle. The container can also rotate on the plug so you can find that more comfortable position to reach those hard to get at areas. I came up with this method out of necessity. Rather than disconnect the baseboard and pull it away from the back scene, I built this little gizmo to allow me to get close to the back scene. That in turn allowed me to create this idyllic scene and the sheep are a lot happier too !!!! Enjoy the presentation !!!! Direct Link to " A Mini Grassinator " on YouTube http://www.clickGormo
Hi Gormo, I like the remove able nature of the build as if you had two or three containers, you can change the grass type, colour etc without contaminating each of the containers. It's a nice lush pasture you have there for the sheep. They look a bit over weight. You are being far too generous with that grass. Get em on a diet. Fat lamb ...... Yuckkkkkkkk. Toto
Yes thanks Toto, The removable container is an attractive option. I thought also you could vary the size of the container.....a bit like these power drill sets you can buy now where the battery can be changed from one tool to another or you can add accessories onto the tool to make it perform another task. The removable container comes into it`s own when you wish to change the grass or refill the grass for work on the one area......you can just unplug it and leave the power handle on site until you return. CheersGormo
Get the patent logged Gormo. The " Gormator " The Grassinator with the flexible tank options. cheers Toto
Excellent work Gormo, just a thought, maybe have the jack on an lead to the handle so the container is easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces? Cheers, Pete.
Thanks Guys, It`s tempting Toto.... Pete.....that was the original idea and Marty suggested the lead may get in the way when using the device. In others words on trees and buildings etc. I took on board Marty`s advice because I could see he had a valid concern so that`s why I went the way I did. In saying that however, there`s no reason why you couldn`t have a jumper lead connected between the plug and the socket on the container, to be used when required. This plug and socket system allows a good deal of flexibility in that regard. Thanks for the input. http://www.clickGormo
I was being serious. Its a big improvement on others and very flexible in many ways not just positioning near things but as i said, the ability to swap between material types without cleaning the same bin out. I don't believe that exists to date. If someone picks up on it and likes it, sell the idea on. A one off profit without and further development. result. toto
Great video/slide show Gormo. Only one thing concerns me... This : Modern cars at Great Chesterford Junction ! Cheers, Gary. ps. I ran into John (owner of Uneek Model Products) and he had asked me whether I was going to put the 'grassinator' (my version) into production.
Thanks Gary, Little details like modern cars can disappear behind trees. I have some trees coming in from China so one of them can be placed in front of that little area there. Well..?????....are you going into production with your grassinator??? and will John distribute them for you?? http://www.clickGormo
Gormo Nice work with the static grass machine modifications and the small applicator unit is just perfect for the Aplication may even be more effective in the way you can control to Aplication of the grass.
Luffly! The first real step forward in applicators I have seen in ages, I'm now on the look-out for a couple of suitable containers, as the 'eggspurts' suggest using at least two different lengths of grass fibre. Your system lends itself to that idea perfectly. Doug
Thanks Doug, The essential element is the plug and socket. My plugs and sockets came with a whole bunch of old Meccano and it looks like they may have even been sourced from some old electronics kit.???? I believe they are called "Banana Plugs". Anyway, what I`m driving at in a long winded way, is that the plug has a hole through the side of it to allow it to be fitted permanently and securely into the end of the bug zapper. I think a headphone plug and socket ( large version ) may work just as well as long as you could drill a hole straight through the side of the plug.???? The headphone plugs and sockets tend to click together and would hold firmly when connected and also allow rotation of the container. Anyway just some info and ideas for you. http://www.clickGormo
