    G`day Folks,

Another week gone and another shed episode loaded into the forum.

During the last week I managed to complete a warehouse kit bash that I had been working on for quite some time.

The saga starts here if you wish to have a look....??

Anyway something that came out of the build, was a method for creating those painted on signs that you sometimes see on warehouses and mills and also other buildings. The kit actually supplied signs for the building, however I wanted something a bit different and a bit more realistic. I came up with this method simply out of necessity, but I suppose there must be somebody out there in cyber land who has already done it...?????......who knows and who cares.....it doesn`t really matter.

This is the sort of thing I`m talking about.

So here we go with the demo.!!!!

    Excellent. :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

I tried copying images from the web and printing them directly onto the brick paper. Just doesn't work as good as your method.

    Cheers, Gary.

    Great tutorial Gormo.

These signs often had a black background, so creating a black box, then drop the opacity down really low, so that the brick work is basically stained.
There may be a bit of work involved getting the layers in the correct order

    Top
    Sign lettering
    Sign Border
    Sign Background
    Brick Layer
    Bottom

    Thanks Gary, Paul & Toto,

Gary I think the images you tried may have needed the opacity treatment or possibly even a more complicated process breaking them down and rebuilding them. I haven`t tried it yet, but would suggest you copy the background colour of the image and then firstly paste that over the brick, at the size you want it, and work on the opacity of the background. Then go back to the poster or whatever and make the background in the poster transparent, and then paste the poster over the new background you just laid on the brick. You could fiddle with the opacity of the pasted poster as well. You would finish up with variations in fading on the overall image which may look more typical........dunno?????.....I just thought of that solution.!!!

Paul your suggestion is a good one and will be filed for future kit bashing. If we follow your process in order it would be easy. All you would have to do is merge each layer as it`s laid down on the brick. This locks it in and allows editing of any new layer that comes in over the top. The more I think about it the more logical it seems.......:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Good on ya Toto old mate.....thanks for popping in!!!...:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:
