    G`day Folks,

    I`ve been back a week today and we`re getting back into reality it would seem, and here I am back at my place of work, churning out yet another Gormo`s Shed for your entertainment and information.

    No rest for the weary would be true if it wasn`t so much fun....:avatar::avatar::avatar::avatar:

    Well here we go........soldering wire to rail.......no big deal you say......it`s easy !!!!

    Well it`s not so easy for some and they are who this video is aimed at. Most things / skills in life are attained through learning and practice and having the right information.

    I was taught many years ago how to do French Polishing and for me it was a revelation......or more so a gift of knowledge that empowered me with the skills to turn an ordinary looking bit of wood into a thing of beauty. I am forever grateful for that knowledge.

    So for some of you who struggle with soldering, this video may be of some help.

    I am not the worlds greatest solderer but I can solder a good joint. My soldering may not be the prettiest soldering but it works as it`s supposed to. I am self taught through practice and dogged determination to get the bloomin` thing to work.

    The video below contains my methods, crude as they may be, and I hope that they may be of some assistance to my fellow railway modellers who find soldering daunting.

    If this is you......try out my method and let me know how you go, or ask me for more information and I will do my best to answer your question.

    Nice one Gormo! It explained a few points to me and I feel a bit more confidence in doing the job now.

    P.S. Does the clock behind you need new batteries?

    Another Gormo Classic. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

    Toto, save the solder and glue, I have a nail gun, that should keep your fingers together

    I`m not sure though, about letting Toto near a nail gun......I can just see him nailing anything that moved......including the neighbours cat!!!!!......here kitty, kitty, kitty.......:scratchchin:

    Excellent Gormo. :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

    Tinning the rails and wires is the key. 'Low melt' solder is another advantage to good soldering as well. I do find that with the use of a little flux, it allows the hot solder to flow easier and you will get a smoother finish to the soldered joint. ;)

    Cheers, Gary.

    ooops forgot to mention (probably distracted of the thought of nailing Toto to some form of cross), I use a fibre glass brush to clean the rails

    Squires do several - Page 92 of the catalog

    Available in 2mm or 4mm diameter
