    Excellent.

Some worthy additions to the layout, although I'm not sure those factory workers get much done...??

    They have no eyes....

    Cheers, Gary.

Nice one Gormo, the cameos are excellent, very realistic .

The N2 is a little cracker, lovely slow take off, just like the real thing.

Nice little cameo's there Gormo. Some nice detail. the loco runs like a dream as well. Is that straight from the box or have you serviced it ?

    Thanks Gary, Ron,Toto & Pete,

Yes Toto, the loco ran like that straight out of the box. It was purchased from our local hobby shop ...Woodpecker ......as a good second hand model. It was test run in the shop and it was obvious then that it was a good little item. The pic on the box does not do it any justice, but when I saw it run it was love at first sight.

They also had a good single car DMU unit for around the same price that appeared to have never been run, however the N2 took my fancy.

I`ll have to open it up to refit the glazing in the cab which seems to have come loose, so we`ll see the true extent of things shortly, however I`m not expecting any nasty surprises.

I try and get some logic into my cameos...it`s nice to have little stories going on around the layout. Something to make people use their imaginations.

I have two elderly female cousins coming to visit soon. One is a train nut and she is interested in seeing GCJ. These two ladies still have their original Hornby clockwork train sets from childhood ( Yes folks....girls with train sets ????).....early 1950`s vintage....they had one each and both are still intact.....they could be sitting on a bit of cash there...?????

So I will have to get into the train room and clean it up and make it presentable........polish all the buffers, dust off the trees, comb the grass, assassinate a few spiders and clean the track.

    Hey Gormo,

You have done really well from Santa. However, may I suggest that you leave a few spiders to their own devices. I have an arrangement with those in my shed that if they stay away from ground level and continue to keep the mozzies under control, then they can stay.

    Cheers
    and happy modelling

Happy New Year to you. Great video, nice to see the whole layout. Very impressed with the control panel and the manual point levels. I love the Michael Portillo scene. You should post a screen grab on the Great British Railway Journeys Facebook account. https://www.facebook.com/OfficialGBRJ/

    Keep up the great work,

    Kind regards,

    Mookie.

    Hi Gormo,
Glad you clarified the Michael Portillo scene, at first I thought he was interviewing Sir Topham Hatt!
    Cheers

    Thanks Guys,

For all the comments.........I have posted a pic on the Great British Railway Journeys Facebook page, but as I am a Facebook mumpty, don`t know if it will show up properly.

All this stuff helps to get the mojo rolling again.........the Christmas break has seen my energy diverted to other tasks, however I am now in the new year slow down and reset period and trying to get my head around starting again on the railway. A common problem, I know for most of us, but there you are.....that`s how it goes.

    G`day Folks,

Well I have received my final delivery from Townstreet. The prize from the the Christmas competition.

Pat at Townstreet posted the prize to me from the UK as three parcels, all posted on the same day and marked 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3. All logical and common sense.....not a problem. One would have to assume they all left UK together and arrived in Oz.....together.???

Our postal service here in Oz......Australia Post......in it`s infinite wisdom, decided to deliver each parcel separately on three separate days. Because the parcels were too big to fit in the post box, they were delivered by Australia Post Couriers in vans. Now I used to work in warehousing and have an understanding of logistics. If I were to dispatch parcels across the countryside in the same manner there would be a please explain popping up on my desk very soon afterwards. Three trips could have been condensed into one.????

These institutions think they are experts in logistics, yet the truth is they haven`t got a clue and they are wasting time, money and resources proving how inefficient they are.???......maybe it`s just me being a grumpy old man.........but is the world dumbing down.?????

Anyway Pat`s parcels arrived safe and sound and now I have a job in front of me.

This is the brick goods shed with interior platforms.

Comprehensive instructions arrived with delivery 2

Safely packed in this box is....The Basic Station Set B.S.20L, Brick Waiting Room Compl. B.S.31 and Low Relief Brick Shop, House and 2 Small Houses and the Crown Hotel

They are lovely castings but very delicate and should be handled with care. I have to read through the instructions thoroughly and get in some supplies before I have a crack at it.

These buildings are destined for my branch line stations as I feel they would put my other buildings to shame on GCJ.

Thanks again to Toto and Platform 1 for the competition and a big thanks to Pat for providing such a good prize.

    Dear Gormo and others,
since AusPost was corporatized and run by non posties ( increasingly people who have not been in a Post Office, let alone posted something ) , who were replaced with"management experts" the place has gone downhill.
There was an interesting comment from the CEO of Ports Australia on ABC TV yesterday wherein he asserts that MBAs are a useless qualification that lacks hands on training .
This could also be said for a number of other degrees, good idea in themselves but lacking actual real world learning and experience as part of the degree, so good intentions fail.
Hope your Goods Shed turns out well Gormo, we will all follow your comments with keen interest,
    best wishes and regards,
    Echidna

Hey Gormo....do not become despondent...you are not becoming a grumpy old man but like me you just wonder when postal efficiency and service here went out the door.

Just got my speed recorder from the USA and am really looking forward to being able to speed match all my DCC locos. But the real issue is one day from New Jersey to JFK then one day to Tokyo then one day to Sydney where it was entrusted to A Post on 1 Jan. Got here on 10 Jan in my letter box even though it was USA Postal First Class, must have Signature, etc.

    We will press on regardless.

    Cheers

    and happy modelling

    Richard

    Thanks Guys,

Ian I have to get some Humbrol supplies, maybe today, so shouldn`t be too long before we kick off.

Thanks Echidna for the insight.....that explains quite a few things and unfortunately , it`s the way we are heading in a lot of services these days. Everything run by accountants and University graduates.

Richard I am no longer despondent. I walked out the back door onto the deck, punched myself in the mouth, jumped into the air and rotated 180 degrees and walked back inside.
    Aaaaahhh!!!...that feels better.

The system will never be perfect so must learn to work with it I suppose....:scratchchin:

    G`day Folks,
Just making sure my railway is still here...????.......it is..
    ..
    Now to try something...???

Screenshot at 2018-02-21 08-57-07.png inserting a pic as a thumbnail.......will it blow up to full size when clicked on.??

    :tophat:Gormo

Also full sized image........is it suitable..???

    Screenshot at 2018-02-21 08-57-07.png

    Looks OK

Now this begs the question??......is there any value in posting a number of pics as thumbnails into a post rather than the full sized equivalent.?
It would certainly reduced the page size for the reader, however could become a bit tiresome in the reading if one has to constantly click on an image to view.??
Hhhmmmm???.....will have to think about that one.??
    Adios amigos
