After a discussion with Rob Pulham as to which model blowtorch he uses, and the pro's and con's of the 'pistol grip' type, I decided to take the plunge and buy the above since I've also just ordered a PDK Models "Q" Class brass kit in 4mm scale. Despite having a choice of 2 other blowtorches, having tried this Iroda, I can see why Rob uses it, as the flame can be turned down extremely low to work on small areas without fear of melting other items you don't want melted, my other torches perhaps being a 'sledgehammer to crack a nut' so to speak. At a penny under £60, it ain't cheap, although you can buy the torch without the extra bits and kitbox if you want (at £49.99) but the extra bits and box seem a better bargain for another 'tenner' and a safer place to keep the iron rather than it rolling about on the bench (or floor!). It's certainly a nicely made unit, not too big and it's well balanced, though I did consider the 'pistol grip' version as I find a 'pistol grip' airbrush easier for me than the usual 'double acting' type due to slightly arthritic hands, then again, I won't spend as much time actually using the Iroda as I do when airbrushing a model, so I hopefully won't have any difficulty.
This is what you get for your money. IMG_1232.jpg

All I need now is the "Q" Class model (up to 14 days delivery I gather), so I won't start anything else in the meantime.(Probably!)
    Keith.
