Another unknown but the kit looks pretty good. Provided by Ellis Clark. Complete with wheels, motor and gearbox. Pictures to follow shortly. Cheers Toto
Hi Toto, I am pretty sure that JMP is the range that were called "Just Magic" and if I am right they too have a great reputation. Sadly when he died the chap who developed/owned the range insisted that it was destroyed as part of his will stipulations.
Shame ....... looks like this one has spent a bit time with him down under ...... the box ....... complete with wheels ...... fittings .... plus a motor and gears ...... bonus ...... preformed boiler ....... bags of gubbins ....... one side of the tank in a manky state ........ more frets ..... more clarty frets ......... Chassis and pony truck stuff ..... phew ..... the other side of the tank ...... worst state I've ever seen yet. never mind it all seems to be there and if like you say they get a good reputation ....... all the better. I'd love to try this one myself as I like the tanks. cheers toto
Ah I've got it now 2300 class threw me a bit and I was wondering what the heck is that supposed to be, yes a Fowler tank with large cab... a highly desirable loco to own so well done Toto.
I like it . it'll need a good clean nearer the build as the frets are filthy but no hassle there. once Dundee and Elgin are over, I need to get some of these more basic kits done including a few wagons. I'm dying to see some of these getting started. cheers toto
I know the feeling Toto, I was hoping to have shifted my couple of builds forward but go diverted onto other chores... I think I might even have to go to work tomorrow for a rest
There is always something to use up your time. However ...... Luib Bridge must take priority at the moment. Cheers Toto
No point trying to clean the etches as they will only tarnish again unless you rewrap them in acid free tissue. Do it when you are ready to start on them and they will be fine.
Don't worry it will clean up I have seen worse - you can of course clean them now with Barkeepers friend or viakal but they will tarnish again unless you keep them somewhere airtight.
