News from Lion heart models is that Richard is joining up with Dapol to produce models in the "cheaper part plastic market", including re packaging of the Lion Heart Pannier in Dapol packaging, whilst Lion Heart will now produce brass models hopefully in the sub 1000 pound price range. One of the first new models will be the 3MT in several versions suitable for 3'6" radius curves.

Not surprising as I believe Richard took up a roll with Dapol design and manufacturing department a couple of years ago.

Will the pannier now be made in the UK??
Also will it be cheaper ???

Hi Chris, he didn't say, when I spoke to him today, but as I've just acquired one of the auto trailer sets I'm not to worried. Came at the right price as well. I did order a 43xx in green from him and a BR pannier (for some one else on this forum.;)
I've also picked up a Tower models brass 0-4-2T and a Ixion Fowler both with sound fitted this week.
I think the pricing will come down to attract more modellers into o gauge. The quality is certainly there and this merger will help secure Dapol in the future. I'm sure there are going to be some great releases to tempt us!

With the costs rising in China all the time in may end up cheaper one day soon.
Especially when you consider the tooling costs are a big part of the initial cost and that's all been covered, get the tooling to the Dapol factory in the UK and there away, supply a kit version of the pannier and they don't even have the labour costs of building
I'd be up for doing a kit build, Plastic O scale Pannier.

    Hi Chris,
Correct and I managed to swap some for the o gauge locos as well, so bonus, no stupid eBay fees to pay. Still got a lot to move on as I've now fully committed to O Gauge.

Nice work Kim that's the way to do it.

Toto, Kim is right if you see anything interesting in O scale here in Australia esp at the right price you don't say no  you just find a way :scratchchin: to buy it,:faint: as to try and get from the source in the UK will usualy cost at least twice as much then the import duty on the more expensive items, anything that's $1000au or more :hammer: approx £500 at the moment.

There plenty of nice model's in the UK, well that is until Kim gets there to "stock up" as he said in a post a week ago :thumbs::thumbs:

Import duty :whatever: in the lap of the gods, just keeping fingers crossed with the items coming over at the moment. Only had to pay out once so far.
Chris, I take it your back is playing up again as your up at this hour in the morning?
