distracted - he was never tracted in the first place. There has been some changes in the layout as of Sundays visit / work, but I'll leave Toto to elaborate - he's good at that. Good luck tomorrow Paul
Mmmmmm yes. The wagon works has gone. It was going to be too much of a cram in. Doing away with it allows a run around to facilitate more shunting on the goods side of things. The wagon works will need to make its way onto the next module when ever that happens. Further explanation via another copy of the track plan will help. The track plan has not changed, just a shuffle around of the facilities. Toto
Ok, Interviews over for the moment and a bit time to get stuck into the layout. I'll be starting by resolving the track feeds that require to be refer imaged due to the latest track alignment moves fom the weekend there. I should be hitting the shed tonight to get them out of the way. Track painting will follow with some rust and track grime followed by the start of the dreaded ballasting. I also have a couple of buffer stops to build and get in place. Watch this space. Cheers Toto
Well, .... today it looks like the reinstatement of track feeds. Boooooooooring. still they have to be done. I'll also look at getting the rails, sleepers and chairs painted as well. Yaaaaaaawwwwwwwnnnnnnn. Then, mask of area's to start ballasting. I can see this far enough but will make a start and hopefully my enthusiasm for it will pick up. wake me up when its over. cheers toto
Ballasting is what I leave until I have glued down soil etc. I look at the scenics as in real life, working from the ground up ! Cheers, Gary.
Re-done the track feeds and started spraying the track with the following ....... I used this on Ord Gait before it was scrapped and thought it gave the sleepers a nice creosote type colour so its back in use here. Does not stand out a mile in the photo's but is more prominent to the eye when seen in the flesh. Certainly dulls down the factory black finish and leaves a nice matt finish .... and the last one on baseboard 1. I have went over the rails and taken the paint off whilst it was still wet. I'll go over the rails again though. Next up will be baseboard two for the same treatment. After that, I'll look out the track rust and do the sides of the rails. At least the sides that will be on view. I'll also pick out the rail chairs etc prior to starting with any ballast. I also need to determine where I can give the available ground levels a bit relief to try and lift a bit of the flatness of the layout away. more later toto
Not long back from B & Q as I ran out of matt brown / red paint. I picked up some Matt black and grey at the same time and some expanded foam sheet. back in the shed. cheers for now. toto
The foam cutting is well and truly on its way. Big slabs of insulation board being cut roughly to size and placed in place awaiting gluing. I'll get the most of it cut before I start gluing. I am also building in Townstreet bridge facades etc into the front face of the tunnels. I have taken photos but forgot to load them up onto the laptop before shutting up the shed for the night so I'll get them up tomorrow. I only have a rough idea of where I am going with the rock faces etc so it'll take a few twists and turns along the way I'd expect. I'll also be getting down and dirty with some plaster bandage so if you are partial to a bit of mud wrestling ....... Watch this thread. Cheers Toto
Get a life ........ You'll get them at some sensible hour ......... I ain't going back in the shed now ....... Too many bogey men out there.
She'd run a mile ..... It's only me she goes for anyway, she's giving it zzzzzzz's. No problem with her sleeping patterns.
