Does anyone have a spare chassis block (or at the very least the LH side) as the cast pins that hold the gear wheels on mine have sheared off. I tried running it double headed, but the design of the axle slots causes too much friction and it just won't free wheel. Its a nice looking loco and it would be pity to scrap it. Not having a model makers pillar drill makes drilling out the sides and inserting new pins an improbable solution. Its the small white pod motor - not sure if the other design of split Mainline chassis for 4-6-0's is interchangeable as the front part held on with 2 screws might be the only difference? Drc
It may be a long shot but you could try Peters Spares, I know they specialise in Hornby spares but I believe they also do other makes. Pete.
Thanks Pete. Tried them and also Replica Railways. No joy I'm afraid. Fortunately not in a particular rush on this - got plenty of others in the 'needs looking at' yard
I have just done a 'Google' search for 'Mainline Mogul 2-6-0 Chassis'. I am not familiar with the parts that you are looking for but there a quite a few items thrown up in this search that might be of interest to you. Hope that this might help, Kind regards, Martin, retired in a Sunny Central Portugal
Did actually locate a brand new spare chassis on E Bay still in its blister pack for less than £19 located in the USA. However p and plus duty meant it would cost almost as much as a new Bachmann version! I'm semi sorted now - got a BR Bachmann in mint condition yesterday from a local E Bay seller so hoping to be able to swap the chassis over - but I couldn't find the orginal one last night Going hunting again later - suspect its inside the engine shed If it works expect to see a BR body and a knackered Mainline chassis in the for sale forum later.
