Does any here know why the current Markits catalogue cannot be downloaded ?... a bit of an odd question I know but I was about to order some 23mm dia driving wheels, the catalogue was available to browse on Friday but last night and today the download button is inoperative. their latest release catalogue is available tho. I was hoping to make an order list out and ring them on Tuesday. 18 spoke 23mm driving wheels in 4mm seem to be as rare as hens teeth at the moment.

Thanks Pete, I'll check back it may be they are updating the catalog... the new additions for 4mm and 7mm as still downloadable.

I gather that Markits are in the process of updating their catalogue pricewise, as they've not raised prices for 5 years, so it may have been unavailable due to updating. I have an order with them presently, but am not expecting delivery much before the end of March, judging by their previous delivery times. Have you had a look at the 'Alan Gibson (Workshop)' catalogue for your driving wheels, Paul? They are exhibiting at the York show this year, and is one of the stands I shall be particularly interested in visiting, their order turnaround times are much faster too, usually within a few days when I've used them.

Yes I found the Alan Gibson range and funnily enough there were three pairs of 5'8" 18 spoke drivers new and never opened up on ebay with a BIN price of a fiver each so I bought two packs. I need them for the C12 which I'm on with at the moment. I'm going to call in on his stand when we go to the York show... so I will see what else there is to tempt me.

I've just checked the Markits site and the download button for their catalogue is still disabled so I suspect they are reorganizing the prices. Their latest additions for 4mm and 7mm is working tho.

Can't knock a saving like that, Paul. The complete full wheelset I've got on order from Markits is for a BR/SR "W" Class 2-6-4 tank engine, a touch over £55! Only reason I didn't order from Alan Gibson is they don't list a full set, and I don't know the exact specifications of drivers and bogie wheels needed, as they don't list them as a set. I'm hoping I may have them by the time York show comes around, otherwise I could be a bit brassed off if I could have got them then! Still, they do a great range of detail parts, so their stand will surely be worth a visit.

A full set of scale wheels from Markits for the C12 (I think from their finescale ? range) was marked up at £45 under their old price, that's when I was going to order the other day. The wheels that came with the kit were rubbish and I wasn't prepared to build it with poor quality fittings and so that was another reason why I decided not to sell it on as an unbuilt kit. The lesson for me is don't buy second hand unmade and out of date kits unless you know where they are from.
