Tidy job Ron. You have taken to the scenics like a cat to water:scratchchin: you know what I mean.

The yellow sleepers, are they uncoupling markers by any chance?

Hope you enjoy your caravan trip. Anywhere interesting ?

    Cheers

    Toto

Thanks Tom, yes uncoupling magnets, I'll paint them over once the layout is free standing.
Going to Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, about 3 hours away and an easy trip, bit of R&R !!
But a quick lookin at Howes model shop which is only 15 mins from the site!!
    Cheers

Ron... Very nice work, looks like home.

US locos are brightly colored and people still hit trains almost on a daily basis. Our locomotives are only ever washed by the rain or a rebuild. So once they hit the ground running they become the general color of the area they run in. East Coast is generally dull and sun faded rusted detail works ( vents/ louvers/ grab irons) covered in dust and dirt..West Coast trains can be spotted by the light fading paint covered lightly in just dust- very little rust if any in details leaning more towards just blackened exhaust heat marks from the engine cowlings.

Graffiti looks pretty good. Tagging is a complete art form inside itself. Personally have a hard time reading some to most of it, just getting old. Rail workers have to go over and re do any placards that get tagged. Also have to put the reflective tape strips down the side again if tagged over. People have a hard time seeing trains from the side if not properly lit.....flashing cross bucks do not mean much.

Keep up the good work, on both layouts. Thanks

New box car arrived today, just sorted the Kadee's and nearly finished the ballasting.

Very good Ron. The weathering is quite discreet. Very light. You are getting quite a collection now.

    Cheers

It's the longest S4 you have ever seen... The buffers are at one end of the layout, the fuel tanks a bit further up the line, you'll find the engine straddled across two sets of points and the horns are at the other end of the layout. As for the drivers, well, I don't think they'll come out of hiding...! :avatar::avatar:

    Cheers, Gary.
