I have discovered a advantage in not sleeping well due to my Damage spine issues and surfing the net at all hours.
You find the most unexpected things when you do jump on them.
So last night found a Train Auction in Sydney listing O Gauge
Got out of the house at sparrow picked up my Dad on the way up the Hwy to the big smoke and it was worth the trip only wish had a few more $$ there were a more than a couple of nice models knocked down at a steal.

So what did I end up with
    3 Locos
16 carriages and a Turn table and 2 sets of rolling road rollers one 4 pack one 3 pack.
The carriages work out at Less than $20au each when averaged over the 4 lots Hamer price
And I sold 2 unwanted ones that were in a lot before I left the auction for $150. Bit cheeky
    The Locos
    No1 DJH Factory built BR 9F 2-10-0
No2 I believe is originally a Connosiour Models Kit LMS Breyer Garret 2-6-0 0-6-2.
    No3 Ixion Manning waddle NSWGR 1021 0-4-0

Carriages 7 BR Mk1's in Blood and Custard Lima frame with brass overlays and correct scale bogies picked up this lot for $70
MTH US Milwaukee Road Hiawatha set
2 Bachmann brass tank cars that came with the lot for the 1021 loco Sold these 2 at the auction. As another person wanted them but not the loco.
The cost for the 2 big locos lets just say they were a more than a bargain I couldn't buy 2, OO Bachmann 9F's for what I paid for the 9F
The Fact Controller surveys his Railways latest really useless locos Two 2 big and one 2 small

The prized get at the Auction for the equivalent of £260 in AU $
    A LMS Beyer Garret
This one needs some work and repairs due to a bit of handelling at the auction house nothing that can't be easily fixed.
never been run the same with the 9F and the 1021

    :D .......

For the turntable, maybe worth considering a stepper motor drive - high torque and very accurate, and quite cheap.

Was a chance find Gary no time to think just in the car at sparrows and chance it to see what was there.
You had to be there it was pre bid then on floor only

a set of corgi cars went to a low ball pre bid as no interest in the room.
Wish I could of justified spending a few more $$ as some items went way too cheap.

Yes as some of the locos went for around $200au made O Scale look cheap a LMS Dutches went for $375 needed some touch ups but would cost that much to get the wheels and motor out here
Should have just put on the credit card.

I don't think the Auction was well publicised I only chanced it via an image search for a loco and the similar images section had the little brass tank and it lead to the Auction page.

It's a lessern to us all leave instructions as to what your collections estimated worth is and a contact person you trust for your family if they have no interest in keeping your models.
Turns out the estate sale was from a modeller I knew, 12 months ago he gave me a display cabinet for my Oscale models.
At the time he didn't say anything about being unwell just that it was too big for his needs now and as I did a lot of the groups displays I should have it.
I didn't know he had passed, had no contact from our O scale Modellers group that he had passed so may have been sudden and the family has just used the Auction house to clear all his effects.
