Nice sounds, but does'nt quite have the growl of a diesel or the shear force of a steamyies blast.

I'm presuming that you'll be at the Warley show Charlie, and hopefully I'll have at least some of my preordered class 71's by then, so I'll be heading to your stand for a listen. Will you be selling a 'kit' including suitable speaker(s) for the DJM one in the same way as you do for the Hornby one??? Incidentally, since you are "in the trade", do you have any knowledge of when these loco's are expected from China? When I spoke to Dave Jones at the Loughborough model event and asked the question, he said 'in a couple of months' and Hattons are stating October for their "Golden Arrow" version. Be good to know when to expect them!

    Hi Jeff.
I used the relatively new MX649R decoder which is I gather, the smallest one in the Zimo range, but whilst this does actually go into the boiler weight(just!), it is too long to go fully in. My version with the 8 wheeled tender with speaker within, does sound better than the 6 wheel tender version with sugar cube in the boiler, despite being blown with the same recording. This was chosen since tender speaker fitting in this version would be much more of a challenge, although an upturned speaker under 'coal' in the tender might just be a possibility. Maybe later! Glad you found John to be as helpful as I had said, seems to be a sound bloke!
    Keith.
