Well spotted Ed you're correct but I decided that as its a pla ... running layout I'm going for smoothness/quietness at the expense of accuracy but ... I will be using smoke and mirrors to disguise some of the issues and I can raise the floor and doors etc .. and its suprising how things look better with tinto

    Looks OK to me,

But then again smoke and mirrors can do that to a guy, especially after a tinto or two or three.

Love the knitting needle rod Ian.....an elegantly simple solution to point throwing.

Not yet Gary but she's giving me some odd looks since I stopped wearing socks (did'nt want to take any darn chances) .. 3rd control rod fitted and some sections of track .. all rail joiners have pre-soldered dropper wires on them for better running considering the number of points (photos to follow)

You're certainly not pulling the wool over our eyes with this build Ian. Slowly but surely the layout is stitching itself together... :avatar:(we really need a 'groan' emoticon !)

I think you'll have locos running before the end of this week with the progress your making !

    Cheers, Gary.

    Ian

Ive just caught up on your thread. Looks great, lots of ideas to think about for future reference

After watching one of your videos the next video in the sequence was titled "Worlds most scariest and dangerous railway" i thought it was approrpriate as this thread has had everything from supergluing the table cloth to the dining table and flogging the Mrs' knitting Needles.

What more could you ask you for? .....

Great job Ian, I look forward to the finished product.

Track down with pre soldered rail joiners on every joint bar the 2 shorter lengths to give me isolated sections for loco storage. Eventually a short (3 wagons or 1 loco) 3 lane traverser will fit on the right (warehouse loading bay end). A further brewhouse building will fit on the left. I'm going to infill the gaps between the tracks using inverted foam ballast to bring the ground surface up (see front right top photo) then lay tarmac/cobble card over the top. Or something akin to Gormos yogi mat.
