Looks like these kits are being cleared on eBay. £50.00 pff MRP. I'm taking the gamble. Last one though. I'll be looking at a X Class 47 from PRRMP when they open again in February. Photo's will follow Cheers Toto
You're certainly building up a stock of brass kits Toto, at this rate, you'll have enough to keep you busy until retirement! Keith.
I will reach worthiness to attack them st some point. Maybe an expensive learning journey but I'll get there and then have a terrific fleet.
Arrived today and a quick check reveals all appears well with the etches. I'll double check when I get home.
Etches checked ...... they look fine ....... and out of the box ....... the main etch looks fine ....... and on to a whole load of other etched sheets ..... I did not unwrap them but if anyone has a particular interest in viewing any particular parts ..... yell out and I shall unwrap and post a photo up ...... sprung buffers, nuts and bolts and some plastic mouldings ....... cab floors, back walls and operating desks etc ....... the usual array of castings etc ......... and that makes up the kit. Of course the accompanying CD destruction manual accompany's the kit as well as a check off sheet to check the parts against. Cheers for now toto
Just read on the o gauge guilds forum that cross members for the spacing of the bogie units on this model were too short. Mmmmmm a class 25 narrow gauge model it seems. If I ever get started on this ...... someone ..... please ..... point me in the direction of this post.
Emailed Steve Beattie to ask about the bogies and he assures me the bogie parts are fine. It'll be interesting to see if they are. I suspect there has either been a past issue which has been resolved or the statement about the parts being too narrow may have been down to mistake during construction. Time will tell but meanwhile I'm giving mr Beattie the benefit of the doubt. Well, I sort of have to ..... I've got half his stock. As I've said, I have seen a few examples of his kits built and they scrub up well. They may well need the extra bit skill to get them right but if you can do it, you are rewarded with a very nice model. ....... Fingers crossed. Toto
You've no worries Toto .. even if you mess up the price of scrap brass has risen again .. so it's win win Ian vt
Safety in numbers Ian, I've just received my second class 25 this morning along with the class 15 I have been waiting for. I can screw up twice now.
