    Hi Gary

I also meant to ask if you did something different when posting your pics to get them to a decent size in the post.
Only tried one so far on Dargan and it is much smaller than my previous posts and the resizing is the same as I have used before.

    Cheers

I think it will be quite a bit of fun and I am looking forward to meeting members who otherwise have been so far, confined to on line chat. I think the time will pass quickly! Do we have an on line device available for the show so we can show people our site? Our ipad is limited to wifi use.

    Cheers

    and happy modelling

Last year I brought down an old lap top and a dongle to introduce the public to P1MRC.

    Gary;
Completely blown away by the results. Outstanding work. THe only thing that gave it away as a model for me was the tree shadows on the backscene. Otherwise, so lifelike in some shots that I had a double-take - making sure that it really was a model and not the real thing.

Thank you Andrew, much appreciated the kind comments.

I got stuck into knocking up the fertilizer shed, to which I used images of the one that still stands at Dumaresq, in northern NSW. Unfortunately there are not a lot of 'nuts and bolts' pics of this shed, so a little artistic license was used.

Here is a link to Flickr of the shed I copied : https://www.flickr.com/photos/highp...VLu-pSxqpn-bQsYiT-oKEVwp-SbBYwC-G2naq7-dVoVvg

I had no idea what the front wall under the canopy actually looks like with out a 500km (310 miles) drive to Dumaresq ..! So, I opted out and placed some internal wall frames on the front wall and painted the (back scene) openings black.

The whole structure was built upon a piece of 3mm foam core and so is the main back wall. All was covered in Broad Gauge Bodies corrugated card except for the sections under the openings into the shed which from what I could tell from photographs was a low concrete wall. For this I just scribed the foam core and painted a concrete colour. The corrugated card was simply painted a bland/dull galvanised iron colour, reminscent of the corrugated iron in Oz. The steel frame supporting the canopy was made from Evergreen Styrene I beam, suitably painted and weathered. This whole structure was placed and glued in with Gorilla glue. PVA soaked tissue paper was placed on the ends to blend the foam core 'step' into the scenery and the usual soil, and static grasses applied. I decided on a 'greener' grass as this is a fertilizer shed and I'm sure there would be a lot of super phosphate lying around to encourage some rampant growth !

I still have to fit the roof ends from the front wall to the I beam frame. At the moment the roof is just sitting on the frame and wall for a photograph. Gutters, down pipes and barge boards also need adding. I think it captures the prototype shed enough, even though it is very low relief, but beggars can't be choosers !! ;)

A few wagons placed under the shed to give an idea of size.

I thought for a moment the first photo was of the real shed! Brilliant, well done.

It's the last photo that does it for me, the blurred foreground, the sharp middle scene, and that light and shadow... brilliant
You've probably mentioned it but I'm sure those very new looking fertiliser hoppers are going to get a dose of you weathering magic.
    Cheers

    Thanks Pete and Tony.

Those wagons will be weathered eventually. I have a range of photos to use as a weathering guide. ;)

    Cheers, Gary.
