Afternoon everyone, just a quick question, do you need the suppressor on the really old locomotives?
I have had giving to me 4 old Triang loco's, i was servicing a Britannia, and a wire dropped off.
The question is, can you wire straight to the motor bushes ?
    cheers

As far as I know they were only fitted to stop interference, so up to you I think??

Yes they will work ok without the suppressor but you might cause tv interference, although I don't think its so bad with digital tv. If you want to reinstate them they might be available from Peter's Spares or the dreaded Ebay.

I was assured by an electronics expert that unless you are using an old tv and listening to an old radio you shouldn't have a problem.

And if your going down the DCC route its best to remove them altogether.
