Another railway video of the Burma Mines Railway.
Well worth a look for very different scenery and sound of steam locos.
I like the way that a person or sometimes two sits on the front buffer beam of the moving loco to slowly trickle sand onto the track to assist traction.
As I said, great scenery and biuldings for modelling ideas, perhaps even for background sound on your layout as there is no commentary.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60rXWF2uyPYAndrewSandbar & Mudcrab Railways

Videos 2 & 3 are just as interesting. I love the way the crosshead losses its bearing so the crew manufacture a new temporary bearing with a machete and timber. Then the packing around the piston rod blows out so they have to battle around a spiral to get home.

Here is another UTube video featuring the Gokteik Viaduct, which is said to be the largest tressel in the world. Makes me think that maybe a trip to Burma would be interesting. Hope you have a head for heights.
Many sources have put the height of the bridge at 250 metres (820 ft).
This is supposedly a measurement to the river level as it flows underground through a tunnel at the point it passes underneath the trestle.
The true height of the bridge as measured from the rail deck to the ground on the downstream side of the tallest tower is 102 metres (335 ft).

I have just watched the first video you linked and then part 2, 3 & 4. Great stuff, what a railway ! The Gokteik Viaduct in the following link is something else. Love the landings along the bridge, some covered, some not, actually some without a floor !

    Cheers, Gary.

It certainly gives a different aspect as a type of background for a layout for trains.
I doubt if anyone had the area to copy that complete viaduct in height & length to the scale reqiured at least 1 metre high X nearly 7 metres long.
