Form a sunny and warn Northern Australia with the slightest bit of internet Lots to find in the forums So welcome aboard Apologise for my topics lack of updates but few trains to play with whilst we are travelling
Thanks Everyone for the welcome. I thought I would share a little of what I have been doing lately. I live on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and model NSWGR and QR in HO. Also QR in O Scale ! Near where I live is the small Country Township of Dagun. Situated on Queensland Railway's Brooloo branch line, more commonly known today as the Mary Valley Branch line, Dagun was built on a curve and featured a timber mill, responsible for supplying sleepers to QR back in the day. Dairy and fruit packing was also loaded onto wagons here. Today, the line is used as a tourist line and is set to re-open soon after a period of non usage. The line and Bridges have been upgraded part of the way, as far as Amamoor, and will soon hear the sounds of a C17 4-8-0 rattling along its rails. Below is my interpretation of Dagun, selectively compressed to suit a 24" radius curve. Its HO Scale, 12mm gauge. General store and Lumber mill at the rear are kit modified, the station is scratchbuilt, and the goods shed, mocked up in cardboard in the pics, is currently on my workbench, also being scratchbuilt. Still a way to go, as there should be some crossing gates as well as a Derrick (spelling ?) Crane seated into that nook you may be able to see in the loading bank, located in the loop. I also need to finish the lumber mill scene at the top of the hill. If anyone is coming along to the Modelling the Railways of Queensland Convention in October, Dagun will be there in all her glory !
What a great intro and some fantastic modelling there. Another Aussie ....... should have known. Great work.
