Thank you for your welcome! Model railways are rather new to me. A friend suggested I might enjoy the challenge; he has a lot to answer for! I have spent 15 months designing and planning my layout using SCARM. Many many plans, but now I'm well into the building phase for something that suits the concept in my head. About 20 metres of track laid, just the raised section of a branch line to go. Working in N scale with DCC and an NCE Power Cab controller. I've been retired for 8 years now, doing a lot of singing with some good choirs including overseas concert tours. Now I have another project to occupy my time! I'm looking forward to learning a lot from the forum and the experience of everyone here. Cheers Chris
Sounds like you have come to the right place. I'll look forward to seeing your plans unravel and I'm sure that our members will be keen as mustard to jump in and assist with answering any queries as they arise. many thanks for joining us and I hope you enjoy your stay. cheers toto
G'day Chris, Welcome aboard from Sydney. You have joined a great community here with plenty of modellers with a wealth of knowledge between them all. What ever the questions you have may be, just ask and someone will be along with the answer, or multiple answers from multiple members. Settle in, browse the pages, read up ask the questions, but most of all, enjoy the camaraderie and banter that is P1MRC. Cheers, Gary.
Hi there Chris, I don't think your plans will unravel honesty. There are some really excellent model makers on here ranging from people who do etch kits and others who do plastic kits to those who deal in the complexities of wiring layouts and DCC sound control, so across the board you won't go wrong. Anyway from a scratch modeller who's interest is the ex North Stafford Railway welcome and enjoy. cheers for now York Paul
Hi and Chrispy, great to have you on board. Doesn't matter what you are modelling or what you think of your abilities you will find a very warm welcome here! Anything you're not sure of just ask away, we all started somewhere, non of us were instant experts. Cheer's, Pete.
